Twenty five years ago today.

The J.L. Hudson building in downtown Detroit is imploded on 24 October 1998 using 2,728 pounds of explosives. This explosion will be the tallest and biggest building to be imploded. It had 2.2 million square feet and was 410 feet tall with 25 floors and four basements. 660 million pounds of rubble will be left. It will take between five and six month to haul away.
