Online Vendor, Joy Ogochukwu Allegedly Rαped To Death By Male Customer In Benue -GCFRNG

A male customer reportedly r**ed and killed a young shopkeeper in Makurdi, Benue state.

An online saleswoman, Joy Onuh Ogochukwu, was allegedly r**ed to death while she was delivering clothes to a male customer in Benue state.

Joy Ogochukwu, who graduated from the Department of Mass Communication at Benue State University, Makurdi, was killed Tuesday night

The young woman reportedly received a strange call from a customer and went out to deliver clothes to the person she called on Tuesday night, only for her body to be discovered Wednesday morning.

A brother of the deceased, Kidee Po Sh, who confirmed the incident on Facebook, said Joy was r**ed, murdered and her body dumped on the side of a road in Northbank along Federal Housing, Makurdi, Benue State.

Kidee Po Sh wrote: “ for the joy … I still can’t believe she’s gone. She is a promising young woman. She is in a business that started again. She sells clothes and footwear that she normally posts online and receives a dropshipping order She supplies the city of Makurdi.
“On 10/19/2021. She got a customer at North Bank who placed an order for 2 turtlenecks… which she went to deliver. She never came home, we were all worried looking for her. Only to get the news of her murder on northbank along federal housing in Makurdi Benue state …

source said: “She is just a Hustler. What is her crime for being a legitimate Hustler? She only went out last night (Tuesday night) to deliver clothes to ruthless men and she was r**ed and murdered on the North Shore. “

Another source said the victim was supposed to go to the NYSC camp today (Wednesday) before being r**ed to death.
She was supposed to go to camp (NYSC) today (Wednesday). So, she got a call to deliver some things (clothes), that’s how she didn’t come home again. She was r**ed and murdered, ”says the source who claimed to be her classmate

Anambra Election: Buhari Talks Tough Over IPOB

In a surprisingly crowded week, President Muhammadu Buhari vows to sustain the nation’s democratic order and do the needful in terms of ensuring that governorship election holds in Anambra on Nov. 6.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) had threatened to lockdown the entire Southeast for six days if its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, is not released unconditionally before Nov. 4.

However, the Federal and Anambra state governments had since dismissed the threat, assuring that nothing would stop the conduct of the election on Nov. 6.

President Buhari made the federal government’s position known when he presided over meeting of the National Security Council at the State House, Abuja, on Oct. 21.
The National Security Adviser to the President, retired Maj.-Gen. Babagana Mongonu, who addressed State House correspondents at the end of the meeting, also announced the killing of Malam Bako, the successor of Abu Musab Al-Barnawi, the leader of the Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP).

NAN reports that the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Gen. Lucky Irabor had on Oct. 14 confirmed the death of Abu Musab.
Irabor said: “I can authoritatively confirm to you that Abu Musab is dead. He is dead and remains dead.’’

However, Mongonu disclosed that Abu Musab’s successor, Malam Bako was also neutralized along with a prominent member of the ISWAP.
He said: “The fact again is that the armed forces, the land forces have done an excellent job because in the span of one month we have been able to take out the leadership of the Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP) – that is Abu Musab Al-barnawi.

“Two days ago, the man who succeeded him, one Malam Bako, one of the prominent leaders of the Shura Council of the Islamic State of West African Province, was also taken out.

BREAKING: President Buhari to unveil E-Naira on Monday

President Muhammadu Buhari is scheduled to formally unveil the Nigerian Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC), known as the eNaira, on Monday 25 October 2021, at the State House, Abuja, POLITICS NIGERIA has learned.

The launch of the eNaira is a culmination of several years of research work by the Central Bank of Nigeria in advancing the boundaries of payments system in order to make financial transactions easier and seamless for every strata of the society. Following series of engagements with relevant stakeholders including the banking community, fintech operators, merchants and indeed, a cross section of Nigerians, the CBN designed the digital currency, which shall be activated on Monday, October 25, 2021.

The eNaira therefore marks a major step forward in the evolution of money and the CBN is committed to ensuring that the eNaira, like the physical Naira, is accessible by everyone.

Given that the eNaira is a journey, the unveiling marks the first step in that journey, which will continue with a series of further modifications, capabilities and enhancements to the platforms. The CBN will continue to work with relevant partners to ensure a seamless process that will benefit every user, particularly those in the rural areas and the unbanked population.

Since the eNaira is a new product, and amongst the first CBDCs in the world, we have put a structure to promptly address any issue that might arise from the pilot implementation of the eNaira.

Accordingly, following Monday’s formal launch by the President, the Bank will further engage various stakeholders as we enter a new age consistent with global financial advancement.

The theme of the eNaira is: “Same Naira, more possibilities”.
