WCW- WOMAN CRUSH WEDNESDAY!
HAPPY HUMP DAY!
I was fortunate enough to meet Rose a few months back and learn about her incredible life. She is one of the most amazing women I have ever met. Whenever I find myself afraid of tackling something like this fundraising campaign, I think of her and the struggles she faced in her life. Rose became a successful business owner as a single Jewish mother in the early 1900's. She was forced to leave Germany and flee to Japan with her baby girl Reha. I am in awe of her strength.
I know Rose will forever live on through her daughter and granddaughter but she will also live on through me. I plan on sharing her story with my daughters so that they can become as badass as her.
Women are amazing. I am proud to say that as of now, we have an all female crew.

I know I'm late but HAPPY BEST FRIENDS DAY!!!
True friends are those rare people who come to find you in dark places and lead you back to the light. My Kristen has always been my light. She is one of the strongest women I know.
I am so grateful to have her in my life and look forward to becoming really cool old ladies together.
I love strong women and I am working very hard to raise my daughters to be fearless. My daughters are fortunate to be surrounded by amazing role models.
I am very proud that my film REVELATION currently has an all female crew.

Last night, my son, Peter had his first concert. I found myself crying listening to these fabulous students playing their instruments and singing their hearts out. Then I went into self reflection mode and thought about how fast the years are going. I can't believe my baby boy is going to be a fifth grader. It feels like yesterday he was Vivi's age and now he's becoming a young man that yells at me if I enter his room while he's changing.
It's a beautiful thing to watch your children become people although at times it's bitter sweet.
My family has changed so much over the past few years. God gave us Vivian who is the greatest gift we never knew we always wanted. I've also become a film producer who's embarking on the exciting journey of creating my own film. I'm so excited and so terrified. Change is part of life and after 41 years I am embracing it. I am DEFINITELY a work in progress.

Happy Pride Month!
I am producing and starring in a police drama, REVELATION. I am so excited because our fundraising campaign begins June 14th!!
REVELATION is a short film about veteran Detective Rachelle who has recently lost her daughter to a rare brain cancer DIPG.
Upon returning to work, Rachelle is faced with a case that will test how ready she is to return to the force.
When she discovers that her closeted partner Detective Anthony Vello limelight’s secretly as a drag queen, the duo bonds over their hidden truths that will ultimately change how Rachelle views her career for the better.
The film addresses grief in all forms. Rachelle is dealing with the loss of her daughter. She has watched her deteriorate for the past two years and is now trying to return to the only thing that has ever made sense in her life - the force.
There also aren't many cop dramas featuring strong women and LGBTQ+ characters, and that is what makes the premise even more special.

This is an amazing organization that EVERYONE should support.
They are extraordinary people that decided to devote their time to creating an organization that gives back to the men and woman who protect our great communities. Their mission is to help foster positive relationships with law enforcement and the citizens they serve.

This is too good to not repost!
Here it is folks- our next interview with Roger Von Braun. This interview is so powerful. He speaks about his brother's struggles with mental illness and substance abuse which unfortunately led to him taking his own life.
Roger's mission is to prevent children from going down the same path as his brother. I am amazed at how he took a tragic situation and turned it into something beautiful. He is truly extraordinary!
All of these interviews have a connection to my film Revelation. Rachael, the main character in my film, loses her daughter to a rare brain cancer. This experience completely changes her life. To cope with the loss, she turns to alcohol and drugs in order to numb the pain. Mental illness and substance abuse affect all walks of life.

Here it is folks - my interview with Roger Von Braun. Roger's brother Oliver was a drug addict and suffered from mental illness. Unfortunately, after getting clean at the Hope House, Oliver took his own life.
Roger has made it his life's mission to share his brother's story to help people who have similar struggles to his brother Oliver. He has taken a tragic situation and turned it into something beautiful. He is truly extraordinary.

All of the interviews have a connection to my film Revelation. The main character, Rachael, loses her daughter to a rare brain cancer. To cope with the loss, Rachael turns to drugs and alcohol. Oliver Von Braun was a typical Long Island kid who was raised by two loving parents. He unfortunately went down the wrong path and eventually took his own life. I interviewed his brother who has made it his life's mission to help young people deal with metal health issues and drug abuse. He has taken a tragic situation and turned it into something beautiful. Roger, Oliver's brother, is truly extraordinary.

Perception is not always reality. We see this in Oliver's story. He was a young man who had everything- a great family, a beautiful home and crazy athletic ability. From the outside you would never think he was struggling with addiction or would take his own life. Hearing Roger talk about his brother's struggles is incredibly eye opening especially being a mom. We often think ourselves and our kids are immune to certain things because of where we live or who our parents are. Addiction happens to all people no matter where you are from. There are many people in our own lives struggling with addition and mental illness and we have no idea. Be kind to each other.
