Steve Jobs...

He died a billionaire at the age of 56. And some of his words make us think about the meaning of life...

- After all, wealth is just a life experience I've had the opportunity to know. At this moment, as I lay sick in bed reminiscing my entire life, I realize that all the recognition and wealth I achieved are insignificant and lack higher meaning in the face of impending death...

So, take my advice and be courteous and considerate of others. As we get older, we become smarter and we gradually realize that a $30 watch and a $300 watch show the same time...

Whether we wear $30 or $300 purses, the same amount of money can fit in both..
Whether we drive a $150,000 car or a $30,000 car, the journey and the distance are the same, we always reach the same destination..

15 lessons from The One-Percent Edge: Small Changes That Guarantee Relevance and Build Sustainable Success by Susan Solovic:

1. Focus on the one percent. Don't try to change everything at once. Focus on making small, incremental changes that will add up over time.

2. Be persistent. Don't give up if you don't see results immediately. Keep making small changes and eventually you will see a difference.

3. Be patient. It takes time to build sustainable success. Don't expect to see results overnight.

4. Be willing to experiment. Don't be afraid to try new things. The best way to find out what works is to experiment and see what happens.

5. Be data-driven. Use data to track your progress and make sure you're on the right track.

6. Be willing to change. Be willing to change your approach if what you're doing isn't working.

7. Be positive. A positive attitude will help you stay motivated and keep going even when things get tough.

8. Be grateful. Be grateful for the small successes along the way. This will help you stay motivated and keep going.

9. Be humble. Don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it.

10. Be a team player. No one can achieve success on their own. Be willing to work with others to achieve your goals.

11. Be ethical. Do the right thing, even when it's difficult.

12. Be sustainable. Make sure your success is sustainable for the long term.

13. Be relevant. Keep up with the latest trends and changes in your industry.

14. Be innovative. Don't be afraid to think outside the box and come up with new ideas.

15. Be yourself. Don't try to be someone you're not. Be authentic and people will be drawn to you.

I hope these lessons help you on your journey to success.

Top 10 lesson from the book – Be The Best version of yourself

1. Don’t delay

Thinking about running that marathon? Register today. Eager to pursue that degree? Start preparing your application.

The first step to doing anything worthwhile is beginning. And while it can be quite challenging to make that initial leap, without kicking off the process, you won’t get anywhere.

2. Prioritize what matters to you – not others

You’ll never feel fulfilled if you live trying to meet someone else’s expectations. Instead, channel your effort and energy toward what matters to you.

That may be your family, travel, or reading a good book regularly. Only you can determine what’s most important to your happiness and sense of purpose in life.

Spend time around people who encourage positive self-talk and make you feel good about yourself.

3. Don’t sweat the small stuff

Unexpected events will undoubtedly arise as you go through life. You’ll make errors and embarrass yourself. That’s okay. Learn from your mistakes and setbacks and be grateful for the progress you’re making.

4. Accept help from others

Your pride can hold you back from accepting praise and evolving. Try to work against this, and accept help rather than denying it.

There’s no need to travel the road to find your best self alone. BetterUp coaches are here to help keep you accountable and provide the perspective you need to carry on when the going gets tough.

5. Take a break from social media

Platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and even Linkedin are deeply embedded in our lives. But even as social media keeps us connected and informed, it can lead to comparison and self-doubt.

If you find that scrolling your feeds leaves you feeling down, not uplifted, try to establish boundaries. And if you feel inadequate as you browse social media, remember people tend to post their highlights, not low moments.

6. Celebrate small victories

The little things matter.

Celebrate those little things in your life 🤗🤗

SOMETIMES WE STAY IN PLACES WE DON'T FIT

We stay in places we don't fit because we are taught to believe there is no place that can embrace all that we are.

We ball ourselves up and try to fit into spaces that were never meant to be forever but only for a while.
It’s a dreamland, we’re told. A fantasy.

We convince ourselves our wild weirdness is too much; our bold voices too inappropriate.
We convince ourselves that we would never fit into anyone else’s world.
We convince ourselves we should keep bottled up the essence of who we are.

In a world where we grow on a diet of not being enough, why would we ever think that we were?
We feel the poison of it as soon as we think it.
The soul deep crushing, sinking, venomous feeling as we dance with our unworthiness.

It feels toxic because it is.
It’s not true.
It’s a bloody lie and it always has been.

You are worthy.
You are more than enough.
Your voice was meant to be heard.
Your needs were meant to be met and your dreams meant to take flight.

Stand up and be yourself.
Be too much.
Love too hard.
Dance wildly.
Howl at the Moon.
Open too deep.
Take a chance.
Be heard.
Do all the mystical things that make you YOU.

Because each time you do you shed a more of the disguise they taught you to cover yourself with and the more uncovered and bare you are, the more your truth can be seen by the ones who were meant to.

Just because you don’t fit doesn’t mean you failed; it means you grew past the box and now the time has come to break free.

Thank You So Much For Reading Through 😊.

Life changes.

You lose love. You lose friends. You lose piece of yourself that you had never imagined would one day be gone. You keep thinking you can't be happy losing all those pieces.

But, after awhile, you are healing. And then without you realising it, these pieces come back. New love enters. Better friends come along. A strong, wiser you is staring back in the mirror saying "I thought I would never gonna feel happy again."

The thing is sometimes losing people isn't bad at all. Sometimes it's the only thing that helps you grow. It is hard letting someone go, but you can learn the art of letting go because you know it's the best for you and others.

You lose some, you learn some. Remember nothing stays forever, and life won't be hard forever. At one point in your life, you will shine.

9 Lessons from the book "The Modern Break-Up By Mayowa Joseph"

1. Love does not hurt. Loving the Wrong person does.

2. No matter how attractive a person's potential may be, you have to date their reality.

3. Life doesn't give you the people you want, it gives you the people you need; to love you , to hate you, to make you, to break you and to make the person you were meant to be.

4. I truly believe that every single person has to go through something that absolutely destroys them so they can figure out who they really are.

5. A sad thing in life is that so often people will Chase someone who breaks their heart rather than Someone who cherishes it.
6. The person you choose to be your partner affect everything in your life . Your mental health, your peace of mind, your happiness, your success, how you get through tragedies and much more. Choose wisely.

7. Stay single until you find someone that adds value to your life. Be with someone that helps you grow. Otherwise, it isn't really worth it.

8. A relationship isn't about one person trying to force a connection. If it's not reciprocated, move on.

9. If I can love the wrong person this much think about how I could love the right one.

A snake began to chase a firefly that only lived to shine. The firefly stopped and said to the snake:
"Can I ask you three questions?"
The snake said, "Yes."
- Do I belong to your food chain ?
The snake said, "No."
Did I do anything to you?
The snake said, "No."
Then why you wanna devour me?
"The snake replied, ""Cause I can't stand to see you shine."".

Moral of the story...
Often, some people can't stand to see you shine, and that's why they act like snakes, silent and ready to destroy you!
The bitter truth

This is what grief is.
A hole ripped through the very fabric of your being.
The hole eventually heals along the jagged edges that remain. It may even shrink in size.
But that hole will always be there.
A piece of you always missing.
For where there is deep grief, there was great love.
Don’t be ashamed of your grief.
Don’t judge it.
Don’t suppress it.
Don’t rush it.
Rather, acknowledge it.
Lean into it.
Listen to it.
Feel it.
Sit with it.
Sit with the pain. And remember the love.
This is where the healing will begin.

"A Dream Within a Dream" by Edgar Allan Poe

Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow —
You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.

I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand —
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep — while I weep!
O God! Can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?

Cockroach Theory

The cockroach theory for self-development

At a restaurant, a cockroach suddenly flew from somewhere and sat on a lady.

She started screaming out of fear.

With a panic-stricken face and trembling voice, she started jumping, with both her hands desperately trying to get rid of the cockroach.

Her reaction was contagious, as everyone in her group also got panicky.

The lady finally managed to push the cockroach away but ...it landed on another lady in the group.

Now, it was the turn of the other lady in the group to continue the drama.

The waiter rushed forward to their rescue.

In the relay of throwing, the cockroach next fell upon the waiter.

The waiter stood firm, composed himself and observed the behaviour of the cockroach on his shirt.

When he was confident enough, he grabbed it with his fingers and threw it out of the restaurant.

Sipping my coffee and watching the amusement, the antenna of my mind picked up a few thoughts and started wondering, was the cockroach responsible for their histrionic behaviour?

If so, then why was the waiter not disturbed?

He handled it near to perfection, without any chaos.

It is not the cockroach, but the inability of those people to handle the disturbance caused by the cockroach, that disturbed the ladies.

I realized that it is not the shouting of my father or my boss or my wife that disturbs me, but it's my inability to handle the disturbances caused by their shouting that disturbs me.

It's not the traffic jams on the road that disturbs me, but my inability to handle the disturbance caused by the traffic jam that disturbs me.

More than the problem, it's my reaction to the problem that creates chaos in my life.

Lessons learnt from the story:

I understood I should not react in life.

I should always respond.

The women reacted, whereas the waiter responded.

Reactions are always instinctive whereas responses are always well thought of.

A beautiful way to understand LIFE.

She said, “Don't call the doctor, I want to fall asleep peacefully, with your hand in mine.” He told her about the past, how they met, their first kiss. they didn't cry, they smiled. They didn't regret anything, they were grateful. Then she repeated softly, 'I love you forever!' He returned her words, gave her a soft kiss on the forehead. She closed her eyes and fell asleep peacefully with her hand in his. Love is really all that matters because everyone comes into this world with nothing other than love and leaves with nothing other than love. Think about it. Profession, career, bank account, our goods are just tools, nothing more. Everything stays here. So just love….Love those that really love you. Love, as if there was nothing more important in your life.

WORDS FROM A FATHER TO A SON ABOUT MARRIAGE.....

1. My son, if you keep spending on a woman and she never asked you if you’re
saving or investing, and she keeps enjoying the attention, don’t marry her.

2. My son, a woman could be a good wife to you, some could be a good mother to
your children but if you’ve found a woman like a mother to you, your children and
your family, please don’t let her go.

3. My son, don’t confine the position of your wife to the kitchen, where did you get
that from? Even in our days, we had farm-lands where they worked every
morning . . . that was our office.

4. My son, if I tell you that you’re the head of the house, don’t look at your pocket;
look if you will see a smile on your wife’s face.

5. My son, if you want to have a long life, let your wife be in-charge of your salary,
it will be difficult for her to spend it when she’s aware of the home needs and bills
to pay but if it’s in your care, she will keep you asking even when all has been
spent.

6. My son, don’t ever beat your woman, the pain in her body is nothing to be
compared to the wound on her heart and that means you may be in trouble living
with a wounded woman.

7. My son, now that you’re married, if you live a bachelor kind of life with your
wife, you will soon be single again.

8. My son, in our days, we had many wives and many children because of our
large farm-lands and many harvests, there are hardly any land for farming anymore, so embrace your woman closely.

9. My son, under the cocoa tree that I did meet your mother could be your
eateries and restaurants of nowadays, but remember, the closet thing we did there
was to embrace each other.

10. My son, don’t be carried away when you start making more money, instead of
spending on those tiny legs that never knew how hard you worked to get it, spend
it on that woman that stood by you all along.

11. My son, when I threw little stones or whistled at the window of your mother
father’s house, to call her out, it was not

10 lessons from the book You Already Know How to Be Great by Alan Fine:

1. You already have the potential to be great. You don't need to be born with special talents or abilities. You just need to tap into the potential that you already have.

2. The biggest obstacle to greatness is fear. Fear of failure, fear of rejection, fear of the unknown. These are the things that hold us back from achieving our full potential.

3. The only way to overcome fear is to face it. The more you face your fears, the less power they will have over you.

4. You need to have a clear vision of what you want to achieve. What do you want to be great at? What are your goals? Once you have a clear vision, you can start taking steps to make it a reality.

5. You need to set specific goals. Don't just say you want to be great. What does that mean to you? How will you measure your success?

6. You need to take action. Don't just sit around and dream about being great. Take action every day to move closer to your goals.

7. You need to be persistent. There will be setbacks along the way. Don't give up. Keep taking action and eventually you will achieve your goals.

8. You need to be willing to learn and grow. The world is constantly changing. If you want to stay ahead of the curve, you need to be willing to learn and grow.

9. You need to be surrounded by positive people. The people you spend time with have a big impact on your success. Surround yourself with positive people who believe in you and support your goals.

10. You need to celebrate your successes. When you achieve a goal, take the time to celebrate your success. This will help you stay motivated and focused.

These are just a few of the lessons from You Already Know How to Be Great. The book is full of practical advice that can help you achieve your goals and live a great life.
