3 months ago my team told me to go on TikTok and I have to say I’m absolutely blown away by this platform.

Just in a short amount of time we have had over 19 Million people view our ‘Eventful Entrepreneur’ podcast short videos.

If you aren’t on it and like me thought it was just kids doing silly dances then think again as this is an insane platform that has over taken ‘Google’ when searching for absolutely anything you want.

2 years ago today this young 22 year old, Gen Z lad from Bournemouth University called Ed Brown came on board as a video editor. He was in his final year and started doing one day a week, that crept to 3 days and very quickly was doing 5 days a week.

He knew he was really good at video creativity and was smashing it out the park but I saw something else in him! 👀

I noticed that he -
• Was like a sponge 🧽 , took in everything, wanted to learn and push boundaries all the time

• Was easy to work alongside and got on with everyone, which may sound simple but yet this is sooo powerful in the workplace

• Had an unbelievable work ethic as if it was literally his own company

• Didn’t have a driving licence and walked 1 hour 20 mins every day to and from work in ☔️ ☀️ ❄️ 🍁

• Was never late or moaned ⏰

• Was an unbelievable problem solver and got sh*t done with a smile on his face 😊

BUT the thing that really stood out for me was that he has grown rapidly into a LEADER of people!

Anyway I wanted to share that I’ve just promoted Ed Brown at the young age of 24 to become a Director of our company.

In my eyes, if you are good enough you are old enough!

I’m super proud of you mate and excited for your future 👍🏼👍🏼

Callie, our commercial manager just sent me this graphic of all the wonderful brands who have come on board over the years and for the first time it’s made me stop and reflect how far we have come since 2008.

💥 This day 22 years ago me and my best mate Chris hired Ministry of Sound (one of the best clubs on the planet at the time) and put on the ‘London Student Ball’ on A level results day.

I literally called the nightclub 3 times a day for 21 days on the trot to try to speak to someone about hiring the venue and they kept palming me off.

But persistence and not taking NO for an answer resulted in them finally saying they were prepared to meet us.

I remember walking into the club to meet the boss at the time and he had a handshake like a wet lettuce leaf 🥬.

He looked straight through me thinking you’re the annoying pest who kept phoning every single day to get this meeting.

After no niceties he said if you are prepared to pay £5,700 plus VAT you can have the club on a Thursday night.

Me and my best mate thought the rent might be £1k-£2k and we certainly didn’t have a clue what VAT was back then but we agreed straight away to the bosses absolute shock 😳

What an experience to be able to throw a party at one of the worlds best clubs as a 20 year old and our events career was truly underway…

1,500 parties and 15 festivals later I guess the moral of the story is to follow your dream and never take no for an answer 💛👍🏼

🏆 Literally blown away at the amount of people coming upto me this weekend shaking my hand, fist bumping, grabbing a photo or just a bear hug thanking myself and my team for putting on the B7s Festival.

15 years ago I would never have thought in my wildest dreams that the idea of creating a Sport & Music Festival would have such a positive effect on so many like minded people from all 4 corners of the UK😊

I’m not sure how many of you on here have ever attended but if you see this I’d personally want to say a huge thanks for all your positive vibes over the years!

My voice has gone and genuinely can’t wait to tuck into a few beers with my relentless team to celebrate a cracking 2022.

Planning 2023 as we speak 🙏

💥 When I came up with the idea to create a unique Sport & Music Festival in 2008 I never thought it would look like this 15 years on!

5,475 days later we are still tweaking and improving every single day to create an even better experience for our festival goers and our international sponsors.

Big old financial risk myself and my wife took back in the last global recession of 2008 but glad we gave it a good go 🙏
