Niger Delta Coastal Initiatives United Front (NDCIUF) described call for Removal of Ndiomu as Interim Administrator Presidential Amnesty Programme PAP Ridiculous and anti Ijaw.

Following renewed call for the removal of Gen Ndiomu Rtd as Interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme PAP by group of politicians and faceless groups, the group President Chief(Dr). Opumie Crowther has berated those involved as crusading anti Ijaw agenda. In a statement made available to news men through the Secretary General of the NDCIUF Comr. Festus Azibanigha Joseph described the call as baseless, vexatious and laughable. He said the Presidential Amnesty Programme PAP can not be brought to a mere appendage of a political party but for the services of ex agitators and restore peace in the Niger Delta. He pleaded with stakeholders of the Niger Delta region not to overflood Federal Boards manned by Ijaws with frivolous and vexatious petitions and protest.

That the Gen. Ndiomu Barry Tare Rtd lead Interim Administration has brought sanity to the system. Beneficiaries of the Presidential Amnesty Programme PAP Cooperative is a major Achievement which those calling for his removal don't want it to come to lime light. This is because, with the implementation of the cooperatives, it will launch the Beneficiaries to self reliant and productive in their domain. While dollar is increasing and rising cost of goods and services in the market, #65,000 monthly stipends remains thesame which is not sustainable. The cooperative society comes to fill that gap.

The Chief Executive of the Niger Coastal Initiatives United Front NDCIUF Chief Opumie Crowther urge Politicians to distinguish the Amnesty Office and elections for optimal performance of the program. Gen. Ndiomu is too focus to be distracted by agenda of underdevelopment and anti Ijaw group but deliver the core mandate of the Board to beneficiaries. The group stand in solidarity with the Administration to probe staff of the PAP over the leaked document that suppose to be a classical documents.

The group used this medium to urge Mr. President His Excellency Sen Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu-GCFR, and the general public to discountenance with the unfounded allegation of fraud in the Amnesty office as they are born out of greed and wickedness. The Interim Administrator is a very transparent personality who grew from the rank and files as a military and retired as a General in the Nigerian Army. Such a height can only be achieved by a honest man with deligency. That Gen. Ndiomu is a core believer of Mr. President who is a patron of many pro Tinubu groups such as the Tinubu Jagaban Support Movement TSM, e.t.c which clearly contradicts their claim that Gen Ndiomu did not work for Tinubu.

At this point what the PAP need is a technocrat who will bring policy that will affect the life of individual beneficiaries of the amnesty Programme and not the one that will be based on only the #65,000 naira which is no longer sustainable in this economic realities. And Ndiomu if supported by all stakeholders, implement the already frame work of the cooperative that will be beneficial to all delegates.

Press Released:

The Niger Delta Coastal Initiatives United Front(NDCINF)" Condemns the news paper Publication of the Niger Delta Frontiers Movement on Ijaw people.

~ Passes Vote of Confidence on Gen. Barry Ndiomu, I.A Presidential Amnesty.
~Supports the Policies of Mr. President His Excellency Sen Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu-GCFR.

The attention of the Niger Delta Coastal Initiatives United Front(NDCINF) a group formed mainly by Ex-Niger Delta Freedom Fighters has been drawn to a news item sponsored by misguided and faceless group in the Vanguard News paper urging Mr. President to appoint the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta and the Presidential Amnesty Programme to a non Ijaw man with baseless asertions.

Ordinarily we wouldn't have respond to such provocative and vituperative write up against Ijaw people but to set the Record straight. That the Amnesty Programme is strictly for Ex Militant leaders who laid down their arms for the benefit of the Federation and since then peace has returned to the country and Oil Production has increased geometrically. It is important to note that the Amnesty Programme was granted by Late former President Musa Yar'adua regime inorder to curtail the rising militant activities that crippled the Country Oil Exploration in the Region mostly the Creeks of the Niger Delta.

It is a known fact that the Ijaws occupies the Coastal part of the Niger Delta, spanning from Bayelsa, and part of Delta, Rivers State, Akwaibom State, Ondo State and Edo State making it the Fourth Largest Ethnic group in the Country with the highest Oil and Gas deposit and production in Nigeria. During the Wake of the Militant agitations in the Niger Delta, the Ijaws eco system and environment were mostly affected as almost all activities were carried out in the Creeks.

It is therefore an insult and demeaning for any other Ethnic group in the Niger Delta to agitate on issues concerning the Presidential Amnesty Programme when they were no where to be found in the days of the struggle. Those Ethnic groups calling for inclusiveness are the very people that called Ijaw Youths Militants in the pre amnesty era.

It will also be interesting to ask them where were they when the former President proclaimed the Amnesty Programme? How many of Ex-Militants surrenders their arms during first face that are not of Ijaw origin? You can not sit in your comfort zones and write without facts on ground with the aim to mislead authorities and the general public. During the struggle, many of our Ijaw Communities were bombarded by the Federal Government, can they name any of their community that was attacked and bombarded by the Federal Government in the days of the struggle? The Ijaws have received social and environmental injustice inorder to drive home their demand. The Urhobos, Itshekiri, Ikwere, Isoko, Edos are our Neighbors but when it comes to the Amnesty Programme, respect should be given to the Ijaws and not this wickedness portrayed by this misguided faceless group.

The Ijaws are the forebears and frontiers of the Niger Delta Struggle and through the Ijaw Struggle today the NDDC, Local Content, Ministry of Niger Delta and Amnesty Programme has come to the benefit of the entire region. The blood of Ijaw Youths were sacrifice for the current peace we are enjoying in the region.

It will therefore be unwise and an act of wickedness to sit in your comfort zone without contributing anything to the formation of the Programme and agitate for headship of a programme you never partook and labeled all kinds of names on the Ijaw people. Let is be known that the Amnesty Programme, unlike other commissions like the NDDC, Local Content, Niger Delta Ministry e.t.c that is for all Niger Deltans, the Amnesty Programme on the other hand is exclusively for Niger Delta Ex agitators who laid down their arms for the overall benefit of the region and the Country in general.

The programme is in phases, Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration. Pertinent questions need to answer. How many other ethnic Nationalities in Niger Delta embraced the Disarmament in phase 1? The answer is non. When the Ijaws who are the forebears of the struggle embraced peace and constitute 98% of the delegates. How can people who never participated in the struggle come to talk about leadership of such a programme? For emphasis, the Amnesty Programme is not about Niger Delta region but for Ex-agitators and aim to transform delegates into the Society through training and Reintegration.

Presently we are at the Reintegration stage, and we are confident with the current Interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Gen. Barry. T. Ndiomu Rtd. His policies are all encompassing and beneficiaries of the programme are happy with the sanity he has brought to the system such that all beneficiaries received their payments direct from the office without deductions. The Interim Administrator is not just a Retired General in the Nigerian Army, but a son of the soil who understands the topography and Coastal Environment of the Niger Delta.

Recently, he has launched a cooperative scheme for beneficiaries. It is expected that delegates will have starter packs and cash to start various Entrepreneural ventures. This will make delegates to be self reliance and productive in the day to day affairs of the State.

It is indeed in the light of the above that we the Niger Delta Coastal Initiatives United Front under the leadership and command of Chief(Gen).Opumie Crowther condemn in it's entirety the actions of the faceless group, Niger Delta Frontiers Movement who lacks the basis of the formation of the programme.

We unanimously urged the office of the National Security Adviser to the President Malam Nuhu Ribadu and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation SGF, Sen. George Akume to disregard and discountenance with the empty press release born out of malice, envy and ignorance on the grounds upon which the Amnesty office was proclaimed by former President Musa Yar'adua of blessed memory.

In a well attended meeting of it's National Executives, States, Chapters and Unit heads and entire Members of the forum passed a vote of Confidence on the Interim Administrator Presidential Amnesty Programme Gen.Barry Ndiomu Rtd for his role in stabilizing the programme and region which has led to increase in oil production in the Country. We equally urge Mr. President, His Excellency Sen Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu-GCFR to retain him order to continue the good work he has started in the programme.

The group also pointed out that one of the major set back of the programme is the short period of one Administrator to the other. It is in this regard that we thank Mr. President for retaining him for the overall performance of the Programme. The Ijaws will continue to maintain the unity of Nigeria and support Mr. President and his policies.

The group used this medium to also thank and stand in solidarity with Mr. President, His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu-GCFR for removing Fuel Subsidy which has been the bane of corruption by few oligarchic individuals at the detriment of the country within this short while in office. We are also aware of the Federal Government role in stabilizing the power sector by given state Governments, individuals, corporate organizations licenced to generate electricity. The signing of the Student loan bill was another mile stone and benefit yet to come. We need a better Nigeria and that can only be done if the citizens support the policies of Government and as stakeholders of the Niger Delta and Nigerian State in general we support your lofty developmental ideas for the economic advancement of the Federal Republic.

The first transaction I did in Abuja via POS today was for 10,000 naira.

The POS operator, a lady from the south, took 1200 as her service charge—for old notes. I didn’t mind, I needed cash badly.

Unfortunately, like a drop of water in a very hot pan, I soon exhausted the 10,000.

With my bank app not working, I needed cash again. This time, somewhere in Wuse. The POS operator was from the north, a Muslim. He told me he was from the north-east.

So I told him, please, include your charges in the money you would pay me. He pointed 10,200 on the button of the machine. I thought he was making a mistake so I asked if he was sure that was his charge before I entered my pin. He nodded in agreement.

I got my money and before I zoomed off, I told him, “the first place I did transaction of same amount of money I paid 1200 for charges. Why is your own different?”.

From the conversation we have been having, I could tell that the guy was moderately literate. His response to me as to why he charged 200, and not 1200 the other lady had charged me has kept me thinking ever since then.

“Oga, I don’t just want to be part of the problem going on in this country. As long as I have money to dispense without extra cost, I will give it out to my customers without extra cost”.

I have been pondering over the statement ever since.

The POS operator is an Igbo.

Tomorrow, someone will say the North is our problem. Greater stock of Ndi Igbo are very greedy and insatiable. It's worse when it's coming from our Anambra end.
