Years ago we worked on the hit Canadian original series Little Mosque on the Prairie - revolutionary for its time. It highlighted the beauty that is the diverse Canada that we know and love. It lasted 6 amazing seasons.

Potluck Ladies, from creator Shazia Javed, is another beautiful show for our time, a tapestry of who we are made of. For those who haven't seen it yet, it's now out on Hollywood Suite and YesTV. Perhaps we'll have the pleasure of seeing many more seasons of this story as well. ♥️

Branded spots can be short films too!! We loved being a part of this thrilling short film “Undone” from TurboTax! This short horror film is now available for streaming.

"Undone" narrates the tale of Sophia (portrayed by Mitsuko Noguchi), a budding creative entrepreneur renowned for her visionary prowess in fashion design and jewelry crafting. Despite Sophia's adept management of her enterprise, she frequently finds herself overwhelmed by administrative chores and paperwork, a sentiment resonating with many young Canadians.

Through the lens of cinematic storytelling, the film delves into themes of anxiety, illustrating how negative thoughts and self-doubt can impact the lives of young Canadians. In "Undone," Sophia grapples with haunting visions of her disordered documents and the looming spectre of time slipping away.

So incredibly proud of Potluck Ladies winning the best Drama Award at SeriesFest!

The International television festival and non-profit organization announced the victors of its Season 10 Independent Pilot Competition during an awards ceremony held in Denver on Sunday, marking the culmination of the 2024 event. Jurors reviewed 45 pilots from diverse creative talents worldwide during this significant celebration and chose winners across various categories.

Daniel’s Gotta Die hits select Canadian cities and theatres on MARCH 15th!

Starring Bob Saget, Iggy Pop, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Carly Chaikin, and Joel David Moore, Daniel's Gotta Die introduces us to an ordinary man named Daniel, played by Joel David Moore, who finds himself entangled in a dark game of life and death. When Daniel attempts to reconcile with his family he discovers that they all intend to eliminate him to claim his inheritance. The film was a staff pick at the Austin Film Festival in 2022 and won 3 awards at the 2023 Toronto After Dark Film Festival for Best Comedy, Best Ensemble Cast & Best Title Sequence!

Daniel’s Gotta Die is our 4th feature film collaboration with writer & director Jeremy Lalonde (previously Ashgrove, The Go-Getters, and How to Plan an O**y in a Small Town). It was also Bob Saget’s last theatrical performance and released after his unfortunate passing. Bob portrays “Lawrence”, a lawyer overseeing the estate of a wealthy family and delivers an amazing, comedic performance that showcases his incredible range as an actor. One of Bob’s other popular roles was the lovable and quirky “Danny Tanner” in the iconic sitcom "Full House." With his wholesome humor and heartwarming moments his portrayal of the devoted single father resonated with families everywhere. His comedic timing and endearing personality made “Danny Tanner” and Bab Saget a household name.

Norman Jewison passed away in Los Angeles at the age of 97. He was a pioneering figure in the evolution of Canadian cinema and dedicated himself to advancing the art of storytelling and filmmaking, reflected not only in his groundbreaking films but also in the establishment of the Canadian Film Centre in 1986, which officially opened its doors in Toronto in 1988.

Jewison, a prolific producer and director, is renowned for crafting some of the world's most memorable, entertaining, and socially significant films. Notable works in his repertoire encompass the pre-glasnost political satire "The Russians Are Coming, The Russians Are Coming," the original "The Thomas Crown Affair," the groundbreaking civil rights-era drama "In the Heat of the Night" (which clinched five Academy Awards, including Best Picture), the pioneering rock opera "Jesus Christ Superstar," the futuristic cult favorite "Rollerball," the musical comedy-drama "Fiddler on the Roof," the romantic comedy "Moonstruck," courtroom drama "...And Justice For All," military drama "A Soldier’s Story," labor movement picture "F.I.S.T.," war dramas "The Statement" and "In Country," and the compelling narrative of Reuben 'Hurricane' Carter in "The Hurricane," among numerous others.

Jewison garnered four personal Oscar nominations and received three Emmy Awards. His films accumulated 46 Oscar nominations, securing 12 Academy Awards. In 1999, he was honored with the prestigious Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award at the Academy Awards. In Canada, Jewison's lifelong contributions were acknowledged with the Governor General’s Performing Arts Award, and he earned distinctions as an Officer of the Order of Canada, a member of the Order of Ontario, and a Companion to the Order of Canada, the country’s highest civilian honor. The Directors Guild of America bestowed the Lifetime Achievement Award upon Jewison in 2010.

The CFC vows to uphold his legacy by continuing to champion, nurture, and empower the next generation of accomplished Canadian storytellers. We have had the pleasure to work on the new reality series “Bryan’s All In”! In the show "Bryan’s All In" featuring entrepreneur Bryan Baeumler, Bryan embarks on a journey away from conventional routes to assist other entrepreneurs facing challenges in renovating their businesses. These individuals are determined dreamers taking substantial risks to pursue their passion projects, mirroring Bryan's own journey to become his own boss. Every episode features Bryan traveling in his RV, dedicating a week to guide a budding business owner through a crucial phase in their renovation. Serving as a coach and mentor, Bryan aids them in overcoming significant obstacles while working on essential constructions, all within a race to either open a new business or revitalize an existing one.

A 2-part special event premiere was released on HGTV & StackTV on October 14th 2023 with the rest of the show set to air soon! You can watch a sneak peek on HGTV below!

We had the amazing opportunity to welcome cinematographer , director/writer & producers/actors , & to our studios to create a Blu-Ray Commentary for their horror/comedy film "The Chamber of Terror." revolves around Nash Caruthers who is on a deadly collision course with the people that tore his world apart, along with something unexpected and something far more sinister. A vigilante is captured and taken to a safe house in the middle of nowhere. A resident mob family aims to ruthlessly extract the whereabouts of one of their own from their mysterious captive, but he has other plans. As these worlds collide in an evening chock-full of bloodshed and mayhem, something with its own sinister agenda emerges to threaten them all.

This high-octane film takes audiences on a heart-pounding journey of deception, intrigue, and unexpected twists. With a star-studded cast, led by the iconic Nicolas Cage, and a suspenseful plot, "The Retirement Plan" is a fun journey. In this post, we delve into the explosive trailer released and uncover the excitement surrounding this highly anticipated film.

Here at POST CITY, we had the pleasure of working on the feature “Erin’s Guide to Kissing Girls.” The film was produced, written, and directed by Julianna Notten and released on September 25th 2022. Julianna Notten (She/They) is a Toronto-based, award-winning filmmaker, a Canadian Film Centre alumni, and co-founder of Switch Hitter Films.

Q***r representation in media has come a long way in recent years, and the film industry has been taking significant strides towards portraying diverse and authentic LGBTQ+ stories. One such film that has captured the hearts of audiences and critics alike is "Erin's Guide to Kissing Girls." This coming-of-age, q***r, young adult film not only explores the complexities of teenage love but also celebrates the importance of confidence and self-discovery. Big news...we moved the studio! We'll update more about our awesome new space but for now, if you can still catch the new Spider-Man in theatres released last month or on your favourite streamer, some of it was done right here in Toronto!
Just before we moved we were host to this year's Academy Award nominee Brian Tyree Henry for his voice sessions on the new Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (picture not from session). It's an amazing movie.

The show follows Canadian reno couple Bryan and Sarah Baeumler who bought a resort in the Caribbean and moved their family to renovate it. They've opened the resort to guests!

With Covid restrictions and fight cancellations, the logistics of shooting multiple episodes was challenging. Kudos to the producers and crew for overcoming the obstacles and bringing this show to life!
