John Laws speaks to PM Albanese about new standards
LISTEN: The government hopes the New Vehicle Efficiency Standards will come into effect from the start of 2025 – seeing carmakers given emissions targets in a model like the one in place in the United States.
That means if they want to sell larger more polluting vehicles, they will need to offset them with low or zero emissions models.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese told the John Laws Morning Show the plan will save consumers money, not cost them.
Dave Cochrane responds to video of man allegedly pushed off pier
LISTEN: Callers have reacted after a teen was charged for allegedly pushing an elderly man off a pier.
The confronting scene was uploaded online on Monday, and shows a group approaching the 79yo fisherman before pushing him off the Mornington Pier into the water.
The 14 year old boy will appear before a children's court at a later date.

Woolworths’ decision to not stock Australia Day merchandise due to low demand sparked outrage from the Opposition leader.

Opposition Leader Peter Dutton has called on the PM to cancel his trip to the APEC summit in the US - amid the release of convicted criminals from indefinite detention.
Mr Dutton says the parliament should not rise until the matter is dealt with.
Among those released are three murderers and multiple sex offenders
Home Affairs Minister Clare O'Neil says if it was up to her she would keep them in detention - however the High Court made a call and told the government what to do.
