UNDER UNTILISING YOUR AIR FRYER? Use it to make Korean BBQ! No smoke, no oil, no smell and, we love the idea! Ditch your oil splattering hotplate 😝

We love our Air Fryer but because we had scrubbed off the non stick coating from the pot, it made it impossible for us to grill anything. The skin sticked to the pot (Imagine chicken wings with no skin, ugh!) and made it even harder to wash. We almost get a new Air Fryer until we came across this Silicon pot we saw in Lazada.

Merry Christmas!!!

We hope you like this recipe that brings your family closer. Try them out soon! We love it so much!

The main ingredients are very flexible. Just prepare the seafood of your choice. The sauce goes pretty well with any type of seafood! Our favourite is crab, clams, prawns… Basically everything!

Serving for 10

Clams -1kg
Flower Crab - 2kg
Prawn - 2kg
Frozen Cooked Clam - 1kg
Baby squid - 500g
Squid - 500g
Scallop - 1kg
Carrot - 6 large (Peeled and cut into bite size)
Potato - 6 large
Corn - 6 (Chopped into pieces)
Cherry Tomato - 500g
Cucumber - 2 (Peeled and Sliced, Optional)
Parsley - 1 bunch (Optional)
Lemon - 2 (Sliced)
Garlic - 4 bulbs (Minced)
Unsalted Butter - 1 slab

Seasoning for 1 portion (You need to prepare 2 portion)
*We ended up making 3 portion that day as we had too much seafood

Bay Leave - 4 pcs
Cajun Seasoning - 4 tsp
Cayenne Pepper - 2 tsp
Paprika Powder - 2 tsp
Old bay Seasoning - 2 tsp
Garlic Powder - 2 tsp

Let’s get started!

1. Steam Corn and Carrot for 15 mins
2. Boil Potato for 15 mins, let cool and cut into large chunk
3. Wash and prepare all seafood
4. Boil a pot of water. Pour 1 portion of seasoning into water once it starts boiling.
5. Boil all seafood until cooked.
6. Sieve out all seafood
7. Pour the broth into a pot for use later
8. Heat up the same pot and throw in half a slab of butter (We cooked 2 batches using half a slab each)
9. Add in garlic when half of the butter is melted
10. Add in 1 portion of seasoning powder when the butter is fully melted, stir till well combined
11. Start adding all seafood, corn, carrot, potato into pot and fry till well combined, approx 5 mins
12. You may add some broth if you find it too dry
13. Pour everything on table and garnish with Cherry Tomato, Cucumber, Lemon slice and Parsley
14. Eat with your hands!

[Dinner for 2] Fail Proof Lamb Stew | 炖羊肉

Dinner for 2 - Lamb Stew (Fail Proof Recipe)

We had cooked this dish so many times because we love it so much. We also feel that this recipe is great for Christmas!

To make things easier and quicker(The original recipe calls for Red Wine and, just the stewing time is 1 hr 45mins in oven/stove), we decided to try the Beef Stew Roux that we found in Don Don Donki. It turns out just as good!

We usually cook more than portion of 2 because we are bigger eater and we always save it for the next day by keeping them in the fridge 🤣 But below is the ingredients needed just for 2.

P.S Of course you can substitute Lamb with Beef since the Roux is for Beef. We don’t eat beef at home(Singapore) due to some personal reason unless it’s our birthday. 😊

Serving for 2

Bacon - 45g (4 strips, cut into small pieces or you can use Bacon bits)
Lamb Shoulder - 350g (Cut into bite size)
Mushroom - 170g (Thickly sliced)
Carrot - 1 large (Peeled and cut into bite size)
Potato - 250g (Peeled and cut into large chunk
Flour - 13g (Enough to coat the Lamb shoulder)
Yellow Onion - 1/2 (Diced)
Garlic - 2 cloves (Minced)
Salt - 1/2 tsp to marinate and 1/4 tsp for the stew
Pepper - 1/4 tsp to marinate and 1/4 tsp for the stew
Bay Leave - 1 pc
Dried Thyme - 1/4 tsp
Dried/Fresh Parsley - Sprinkle
Beef Stew Roux - 45g
Water - 100ml to deglaze, 200ml for the stew
Chicken stock - 200ml (You can substitute this with water. It is just as good.)

Let’s get started!

*Tips
Will be great if you have a large non stick pot. I don’t have one so I am frying the lamb separately in my non stick pan. Otherwise you can always begin with the non stick pot directly. Save you from washing an extra pan.

1. Season Lamb with Salt and Pepper, coat it with flour.
2. Sauté Bacon over medium high heat till browned and grease released. Transfer to a plate.
3. Fry Lamb in Bacon grease till browned. Transfer to the same plate with bacon.
4. Sauté Onion for 2 mins, followed by Garlic for 1 min.
5. Add 100ml of water to deglaze
6. Add mushroom and let it cook till the mushroom are slightly soften.
7. Transfer the content into a large pot if you didn’t start with one (Skip this step if you begin with one)
8. Add in Carrot, Potato, Lamb, Bacon, Dried Thyme, Bay Leave, Water and Chicken Stock(you can substitute Stock with water), cover the pot and bring it to a boil. Let it cook for 15mins.
9. Off the heat, add in Beef Stew Roux in 2 to 3 batches and stir till Roux fully melted.
10. Cover and simmer it for another 15mins.
11. Sprinkle Parsley as garnish (Skip this if you hate Parsley)
12. Serve with rice or bread of your choice (We serve it with baguette and we love it!)

Why did you went for such a hotpot in Taipei?!

Our friend had recently opened a new restaurant that specialised on Clams Hotpot in Taipei, Taiwan.

Since it’s Brian’s favourite, I had secretly made a reservation with him on the day we arrived at Taipei. It was a Sunday evening and from the video’s audio, you are able to tell that their restaurant was really crowded.

From our experience there, we both agreed that they had put in a lot of effort designing every dishes and ingredients for the hotpot. Design? Yes. Watch and you shall know.

Surprised Taipei trip gone wrong | 我们因为台北惊喜而吵架了

Surprise Taipei trip for Brian! 🎉

We always wanted to try a 说走就走 (go immediately) kind of holiday! However unable to, because we have 3 lovely furkids that needs to arrange their boarding beforehand.

So in order to let Brian have this 说走就走 kind of feel, I can only arrange a surprised trip in such manner. But due to his class that constantly come with unpredictable assessments and schedules, he wasn't really happy about the "Surprised" trip and we even had a fight about it. LOL.

Stop asking me what to eat! | 老公一气之下, 直接开了三盒小龙虾！！！

Ready To Eat Mini Lobsters!

We bought it at about S$16 per box and each box consist of 14 +/- pieces of lobster.

Our favourite is Shi San Xiang - 十三香 as it is a more unique flavour compare to the other 2. We will definitely be stocking up as it is really convenient, easy to prepare and they are pretty tasty!

The delivery only takes about 3 working days as it is already distributed to Singapore.
