WOW. What a weekend. Thank you so much to everyone who visited the 2023 Deepwater Art Show! We've had the most amazing time and hope you all have too. We need a minute to catch our breath, but please enjoy the next few photo posts from the event while we do!
It really is a mammoth effort to make events like this happen, but it's well worth the effort to show our creative community off to all of Australia! A special thank you to everyone involved in getting this show off the ground. There are so many people to mention.
To begin with, our incredible local sponsors, including our major sponsor Deb Smith from Highlands Real Estate Glen Innes, Mayor Rob Banham and Glen Innes Severn Council, Mike and Richard from The Makers Shed, Catie and Scott from Deepwater Station, Susi and Stu from Deepwater Hotel - The Top Pub, Lloyd Hornsby from Gawura Gallery, Sam and Alana Price from Bens Falls Retreat, The Bulmers from AB Contracting, Kings Fuel Supplies, Harold Curry - Stock, Station & Real Estate Agents, Isaac and Renee from Deepwater Brewing, Geoff and Cass Hill from Mr & Mrs Hill Lighting who truly did light up the event, star florist Treen from La Bella Botanical, our amazing event photographer Chaseley Barber from Journey to Create, Richard Cork, Trethewey Industries, FoodWorks Deepwater and Deepwater Jockey Club Inc, Jinny Phipps and the team at Deepwater P&C, Jude Cox and everyone at Royal Far West, the Deepwater Golf Club and Deepwater Red Cross.
Next, our AMAZING feature artists: Ochre Lawson, Lauren Rogers, Monique Correy, Jane Henry and Clare Purser Studio. What a privilege to exhibit such quality Australian art.
Our fantastic creative workshop artists (and exhibitors) Richard Moon Wearable Silver & Silverware, Adele Waabi Chapman Burgess from Quindalup - Aboriginal Art & Cultural Practices, Jo Barr from JAMB Hats & Millinery, Carolyn McCosker - The Creative Journey and Lauren Rogers. The experiences you offered our event attendees were unreal and an absolute highlight of the weekend.
All of our amazing artisans who filled the hall on Saturday and Sunday, including Brig and Alana from Latenight Potter and Sally Kelso from flaex - you really brought the weekend to life.
Thank you also to our opening night special guests Annabelle Hickson from GALAH and Alison Belinger from A•K•Bellinger Gallery (who also judged our prize winners), Michael Burge Media for being an MC to the stars, musical geniuses Azadoota, Laura J King and the MUD BAND, sound engineers Anketell Sound Stage, Steve for making the best art screens going, Liz from The Little Sunshine Cafe and all of the Deepwater Art Show committee and helpers who spent many many hours planning and organising the event, unpacking and hanging art and manning the door.
And then last but not least, everyone else. Everyone who entered their work, dropped in to visit over the weekend, bought, supported and admired regional Australian art. The Deepwater School of Arts hall was abuzz with people and it was a very exciting thing to be a part of. We love you Deepwater!
Stay tuned for photos, including all of the art prize and raffle winners.
