10 MONTHS OF REMARKABLE ACHIEVEMENTS OF GOVERNOR ANDREW MWADIME

EDUCATION
1. Allocated 100 million towards bursaries for students in Taita Taveta County.
2. Collaborated with World Vision to launch six new Early Childhood Development and Education (ECDE) classrooms in Taveta.
3. Provided comprehensive secondary school scholarships for financially disadvantaged children.
4. Launch of Countywide ECDE Feeding Programme

HEALTH
1. Devised a debt settlement plan to end the suspension of medical supplies commodities
2. Implemented Facilities Improvement Fund (FIF) Act, 2021
3. Established a Comprehensive Care Centre for HIV and TB patients in partnership with the Aids Healthcare Foundation.
4. Secured support from the Global Fund/Amref for medical oxygen cylinders, enhancing the county's medical oxygen infrastructure.
5. Officiated the groundbreaking of an 80 million Eye Treatment and Care Centre at Moi County Referral Hospital.
6. Commissioned a state-of-the-art 20 million cancer diagnosis and treatment centre at Moi County Referral Hospital.
7. Received a major funding boost of Ksh. 47.7 million from the Global Fund through Amref Health Africa, in collaboration with the National Government Ministry of Health.
8. Promoted universal healthcare through strategic partnerships.

AGRICULTURE
1. Implemented a Community-Based Genetic Improvement and Multiplication Program to enhance livestock breeds.
2. Collaborated with the EU and Embassy of Sweden to establish a Banana Ripening Chamber for farmers, eliminating post-harvest losses and benefiting the local economy.
3. Distributed Galla Goats to farmers in Taveta in partnership with the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO).
4. Launched the distribution of 10,000 tissue culture banana seedlings to 400 farmers in Taveta.
5. Committed to reclaiming and rehabilitating 18,000 acres of waterlogged land in Taveta.
6. Empowered local livestock farmers to commercialize pasture production through collaboration with the Food and Agric
