🇭🇹 Francois Capois 🇭🇹

Did you know that ❓

Dany, Haitian-Quebec author, only man of color member of the French Academy, brings the word ' ' Vertières ' ' in the 9th edition of the French Academy dictionary in 2019 under the Definition of ' ' Victory ' '.
2 ၧ we have to wait 1953 for this war to be officially commemorated in Haiti. A Monument ' ' the heroes of Vertières ' ' is built in cap-Haitian.
This war seems to have been forgotten from French memory. Despite the important consequences of the loss of Haiti on the French economy and on Napoleon's ambitions in America, the Battle of Vertières is very little mentioned in the history of France.
