Happy anniversary to Warmly!

We're celebrating 1 whole year as of yesterday — June 1st.

I’m proud to say we’ve had over 4K listens.

Across 6 different continents.

With 44 full-length episodes.

Telling 23 stories of brokenness, bravery, and becoming with the help of 23 very special guests.

I could tell you that I set out to publish 52 episodes over the course of 52 weeks, each featuring a letter that never got sent, or conversations that should have happened but never did.

According to what I set out for one might say I missed the mark, but I’ve gained so much more than I could have dreamed.

When I started Warmly I said that vulnerability is our greatest currency and I didn’t realize at the time how true that is, but how important it is to say that we only have so much of it to give.

That’s not to say that we ought to give up on being open & honest & real with people we love dearly but that we can’t spend our whole lives living inside ourselves when so much of life happens outside of us. That being said, be aware of who you’re doing vulnerability business with. There’s a lot of fine print, and it’s worth breaking out the reading glasses to make sure you’re not missing anything.

Lately, I’ve been pausing a whole lot more.

Warmly’s been on pause for a while since I got sick a couple of months ago. It wasn’t exactly a choice at the time, but I’ve chosen to keep things as-is while I continue to check in with myself and assess my readiness for this work and the energy it requires.

If you’ve been around for a while, you know that Pause is my word this year — and I’m not usually the kind of person who chooses a new word for each year but here we are! I guess at the end of the day my mind and body knew I would need to create pause in my life — sometimes planned, other times not so much.

That said, is it appropriate to call something a sabbatical in retrospect? Because I can and I will and I guess I’ll continue to do so for a little while.

Miss you all — talk soon.

Kaia

This week's guest is Rachel.

In this week's episodes we'll talk about therapy, apologies, boundaries, and getting grounded.

We also (apparently) talked a lot about food, so I put that into a whole bonus episode for ya.

Look for the episodes titled ON THE GOOD KIND OF GROUNDED W/ RACHEL + the bonus episode titled Hollandaised and confused w/ Rachel for much, much more.

You can stream Warmly on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, Stitcher, and pretty much anywhere. You can also stream via the website, check the link in bio for our latest post.

Today’s guest is Rachel, and we’ll be talking about apologies, boundaries, and getting grounded.

"Youngblood thinks there's always tomorrow."

dropped an album last week that I haven't been able to take off repeat. WHOOPS. There's a line from his song called "Ghost" that I think gets to the heart of so much of what inspired me to start Warmly and get people talking. Our days, our words, and our breaths are limited. So there isn't always a tomorrow.

I’ll be sharing things like this on Sundays to honor of tradition of church, and the ritual of convening, receiving, and going forth with a good word or reminder for the week.

While the words I’ll share in these Sunday Series are not god-breathed they are phrases and words that have been weighing on me and I hope can bring meaning to each of you as we go forth into each week that follows.

Like, save, or SHARE this message with someone you think needs this today.

Happy Saturday, friends! This week's guest is Ioana, and she talks about getting into, through, and out of an abusive relationship.

We'll also talk about her experience being an Enneagram 3, which is The Achiever.

Today’s guest is Ioana, and we’ll be talking about life as an Enneagram 3 [The Achiever], and her experience getting into and out of a relationship with just a few red flags.

Last week I dropped an episode with my college friend, Caro. They walk us through their process (and invitation) to deconstruct the belief system you were taught to accept growing up. We'll also talk about their experience in being an Enneagram 4w5 (and not the other way around) -- and their experience practicing polyamory.

For more, tune into ON THE PCA & POLYAMORY with my dear friend Caro.

You can stream Warmly on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, Stitcher, and pretty much anywhere. You can also stream via the website, check the link in bio for our latest post.

Today’s guest is Cara, and we’ll be talking about deconstructing your belief system, and other topics like polyamory and proving professors wrong.

I'm looking to hire a part-time producer for Warmly that can do a few things, but mostly edit audio. I've created a whole job listing with a vision for this role, as well as expected duration, pay, and responsibilities.

Looking for someone who can start by March 15th, if not sooner -- I've got a backlog of stuff to work on that I may hire separately for depending on the interest.

Warmly’s now hiring! If you have or want some experience editing for a podcast, or just some general remote administrative work, read more about what we’re looking for.

Happy Saturday, friends! This week's guest is Lisa. Lisa is one of the *very few* friends I made here in Philly before everything shut down -- probably because she also happened to be my former pandemic roomie.

This week's episode is all about , about , about , and about balancing allllll of that while being human.

You can stream Warmly on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, Stitcher, and pretty much anywhere. You can also stream via the website via here.

Today’s guest is Lisa, and we’ll be talking about mental health, the helping profession, being an Enneagram 1/The Perfectionist — with a few inside jokes in the mix.

Happy day of to you all. 🖤

Fridays are our favorite because we get to unveil new eps, and today's is extra special.

This week's guest is Kait. Kait and I went to college together atop and had a few mutual friends that kept us inter-mingled since we graduated.

In this week's episode we talk about her work in the world, her dreams of running non-profits like businesses, her 2nd Master's Degree, her one-and-only date that ended *way better* than any story

Oh, and we talk a lot about autism -- what people misunderstand and need to know in order to be a part of the way we accept, support, and embrace those who identify as a part of the community.

Not to get too into detail, but we also talked about our time at Covenant College, and I separated that juicy content into its own episode.

Look for the episode titled ON AUTISM and BONUS: WHEN PRAYING ABOUT RACISM ISN'T ENOUGH.

Happy Friday, friends! This week's episode is one I recorded with my friend Reem. Reem is a Baghdad-born poet, who has a story that I think we all need to hear.

It will all come full circle next week (in part two), but if you're into , , , , or if you're an then this episode is probably for you.

You can stream Warmly on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, Stitcher, and pretty much anywhere. You can also stream via the website link here.

Happy listening.

I don’t do New Year’s Resolutions, but the episode that dropped last Friday might make it look like I do.

That being said, I did some unexpected reflecting in the last two months of 2020, all of which lead me to writing down some intentions aka mantras that I’ll be carrying with me for the unforeseeable future.

As always, you can listen via the website. or pretty much anywhere you get your other favorite podcasts.

Today’s episode I wanted to share a few things that I’ve been thinking about, and the mantras I’ll be reciting for the unforeseeable future.

I can think of no more perfect episode to clock in at #1 most streamed episode of all time: the very first episode.

My high school best friend, Jenna, and I sat down to talk about the significance of the enneagram framework -- to kick things off right around here.

21/01/2021

The 2nd most streamed episode of Warmly so far was a conversation I had with college friend, Kristin aka Kris.

We talk about leaving toxic marriages, and her experience of deconstructing her faith, her sexuality, and her marriage.

https://www.warmlypod.com/blog/friendswithkristin

20/01/2021

The 3rd most streamed episode of Warmly is a follow-up with one special lady that I didn't know existed until she blindly reached out to me on social media after the dissolution of my relationship.

Tune in to hear Marisa's story about how we got to being friends, in spite of our shared history.

Clocking at #4 on Warmly's most-streamed episodes is titled ON BEING IN LOVE, BEING IN LIES.

This was an episode of just me, kinda. I shared about the last time I was in love, and what I learned about my relationship after the fact. It's a whirlwind.

(It's also part one of a two-part series, so check in tomorrow for the episodes that complements this one.)

Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, "what is needed is a realization that power without love is reckless and abusive, and love without power is sentimental and anemic."

America has historically and conveniently altered the work of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to make us feel more comfortable. We're tempted to sum up his work with quotes from his I Have A Dream speech.

MLK was much more than the quotes that make us feel warm and fuzzy: so much of what he did and stood for was brash, invoking cold discomfort.

I gathered some of my favorite voices (ie. podcast episodes) on the blog today (link in bio!) to honor MLK's legacy, and as a part of my work. Head over to the blog (below) for more information.

And here we are!

The episode I'm sharing with y'all today is another two-part dialogue but the first one came out last week, the second came out *today.*

The focus of our conversation is on my guest, Faith, and her experiences as an Enneagram 4, navigating the challenges of college, career, and ultimately trying to make sense of the pieces of her story that don't quite fit.

https://www.warmlypod.com/blog/friendswithfaith

14/01/2021

Keeping with this week's theme, today's episode is actually a two-fer. I sat down (metaphorically, of course), with my friend Blake.

Blake is a songwriter, theologian, and so much more. In his episodes we unpack what it was like to unpack and embrace his sexuality as a kid who grew up in the Baptist church.

Happy Humpday, y'all.

Today we're sharing an episode that was dropped *on Christmas day* but has nothing to do with Christmas.

The end of 2020 marked the halfway point for a whole year of Warmly -- so we wanted to give you the rundown of Warmly's most streamed episodes. Can you guess which ones were in the top five?!

https://www.warmlypod.com/blog/christmas2020

12/01/2021

As promised, here's another episode you may have missed from the last month!

This is a two-part episode with my college friend, Jillian. We talk about health, racism in healthcare, accessibility, orthorexia, and so much more.

As a content warning, we do talk a lot about body-image related issues, health & wellness related topics.

https://www.warmlypod.com/blog/friendswithjillian

11/01/2021

Whoa! It's been a while since we've shared on here, but this week we'll catch you up on some of the episodes we dropped in the last few weeks.

Up first: I went on a binge of The Skin Deep (have you watched?!) a couple months ago and found myself watching a relationship -- specifically a marriage -- unfold before my eyes. Sometimes vulnerability comes at a cost, and that's what the episode I'm sharing with you TODAY is about.

Don't have time to tune in? Just remember this: sharing your story doesn't make it more valuable or more impactful. The stories you don't share with others carry just as much weight as those you choose to open up to and share with others.

Happy Monday, y'all!

I normally release episodes on Mondays, but this week I wanted to welcome you to join me in having more honest conversations with the people you love about how you're actually feeling (on Thanksgiving, and every other day).

My latest episode is an invitation to not let others gratefulness (real or imagined) dissuade you from letting your pain be known, and replacing your right to express that pain with performative joy.

https://www.warmlypod.com/blog/thanksgiving2020

While everyone’s out there being thankful, I’d like to take a moment to say this: you don’t have to be.

The worst kind of breakups are the ones you do with friends. This week's episode is an invitation to grieve the loss of a friend (or many friends) that you've lost -- sometimes with more ambiguity than answers.

Comment ❤️ if you're missing a friendship like this right now.

This week’s episode is about the worst kind of breakup ever: the friend breakup.

This week we dropped *two* episodes! We sat down with our friend Kristin to talk about the big topic of...deconstruction.

Deconstruction of everything we were taught about faith, marriage & divorce -- and sexuality.

https://www.warmlypod.com/blog/friendswithkristin

This week's guest is my friend Kristin, or Kris -- whichever rolls off the tongue fastest for you. Kristin and I met in college but we weren't really pals until after we graduated and moved onto bigger, better (and sometimes not-so-better) things. We'll talk about our experiences inside & outsid

It’s true: I’ve got a thing for Justin Baldoni but it’s not for the reasons you might think.

Tune into today’s episode to hear about the TED Talk he did 3 years ago and why I feel it’s as relevant today as it was then.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness month. In this episode, we’ll talk about Justin Baldoni’s TEDTalk from October 2017, and why the message continues to be relevant today.
