Dr. Hazarilal Maheshwari (known at the Sri Aurobindo ashram as Maheshwar, the name given to him by the Mother) was a versatile scholar of Indian Philosophy and of the teaching of Sri Aurobindo. He is well known to the community of truth-seekers for his works in English and Hindi on the Bhagavad Gita in the light of Sri Aurobindo. As a seeker, devotee and disciple of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother, he served Them with integrity of knowledge, devotion and dynamic action throughout his life.

This film highlights the major milestones in Sri Aurobindo’s life from his childhood to his voyage to India in 1893 when he touched the soil of India. Wanting the liberation of India, he then launched Bande Mataram, and finally his arrival in Pondicherry on 4th April, 1910. All through his voyages, Sri Aurobindo’s sole determination was to achieve unity with God.

The Transformation movie releasing soon in Tamil.

THE TRANSFORMATION in English and NAYA JANMA in Hindi is a tribute to the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sri Aurobindo and the 75th Anniversary of India's Independence. This documentary film highlights landmark events that took place during this period. The film has shots of the actual locations wherever possible. The film also includes shots of the Alipore Jail where Sri Aurobindo was kept in solitary confinement and the Uttarpara Jaykrishna Public Library, where Sri Aurobindo for the first time revealed publicly of his Yoga and his spiritual experiences. Rare newspapers from the British Library and the National Library with actual writings from Sri Aurobindo form the basis of this film.

Titled 'The Transformation' in English, Naya Janma in Hindi has won 6 International Film Festival awards in the best documentary category. This documentary is dubbed in Tamil and titled Puthiya Piravi is soon to be released.

This documentary is jointly produced by the Sri Aurobindo Society and Sukriti Foundation, Kolkatta.

The Sri Aurobindo Society is paying cinematic tribute to the doyen of the Indian independence movement, a political visionary, spiritual visionary and a Maha Yogi, Sri Aurobindo on his 150th Birth Anniversary on 15th August 2022, which is also the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence. Doordarshan will stream the biopic for the first time, The ‘Transformation’ in English and ‘Naya Janma’ in Hindi on 14th August and 15th August 2022, respectively. "The Transformation" is a tribute on the occasion of 150th Birth Anniversary of Sri Aurobindo and the 75th Anniversary of India's Independence.

August 2022 is a very significant time in our Nation’s history. 15th August will not only usher in our 75th year of independence but will also be the 150th birth anniversary of the person who inspired leaders who fought for our independence and was termed the ‘Master Mind’ by the British for their oust from India.

On this auspicious occasion of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sri Aurobindo (15th August 2022), Sri Aurobindo Society, Puducherry, and Kolkata Sukriti Foundation, have prepared a documentary film on Sri Aurobindo. It portrays this pioneering leader of the Freedom Movement and revolves around the period 1908 to 1909 when Sri Aurobindo was in jail in Alipore in Kolkata. Entitled ‘The Transformation’ in English and ‘Naya Janma’ in Hindi, the film is about 54 minutes long.

The film will be telecast for the first time on Doordarshan in Hindi and English on the 14th and 15th of August, 2022 and will be available on social media platforms.

Sweet Mother, when one sees an illness coming, how can
one stop it?

Ah! First of all, you must not want it and nothing in the body
must want it. You must have a very strong will not to be ill. This
is the first condition.
The second condition is to call the light, a light of equilibrium,
a light of peace, quietude and balance, and to push it into
all the cells of the body, enjoining them not to be afraid, because
that again is another condition.
First, not to want to be ill, and then not to be afraid of
illness. You must neither attract it nor tremble. You must not
want illness at all. But you must not because of fear not want
it; you must not be afraid; you must have a calm certitude and
a complete trust in the power of the Grace to shelter you from
everything, and then think of something else, not be concerned
about this any longer. When you have done these two things,
refusing the illness with all your will and infusing a confidence
which completely eliminates the fear in the cells of the body,
and then busying yourself with something else, not thinking any
longer about the illness, forgetting that it exists... there, if you
know how to do that, you may even be in contact with people
who have contagious diseases, and yet you do not catch them.
But you must know how to do this.
Many people say, “Oh, yes, here I am not afraid.” They
don’t have any fear in the mind, their mind is not afraid, it is
strong, it is not afraid; but the body trembles, and one doesn’t
know it, because it is in the cells of the body that the trembling
goes on. It trembles with a terrible anxiety and this is what
attracts the illness. It is there that you must put the force and
the quietude of a perfect peace and an absolute trust in the
Grace. And then, sometimes you are obliged to drive away with
a similar force in your thought all suggestions that after all, the
physical world is full of illnesses, and these are contagious, and
because one was in contact with somebody who is ill, one is sure
to catch it, and then, that the inner methods are not powerful
enough to act on the physical, and all kinds of stupidities of
which the air is full. These are collective suggestions which are
passed on from one person to another by everybody. And if by
chance there are two or three doctors, then it becomes terrible.
