Someone’s very happy with their name on the wall!
Back to making things. A new window seat! We had a little helper too!
Well… this has been a day we’ve longed for since we moved in, almost 3 years ago!
Pics from rom April 2022 to today, and we’re officially IN our main bedroom! 🤩 There’s a little to-do list, but we’ll take that! ❤️
Bedroom nearing completion! 😬
With the end of summer approaching, it’s time to clear out the old car port which will eventually be demolished to make room for a covered workshop area. As we complete more of the build we’re starting to run out of interior places to make things and make mess!
Much better…we’re about to start making progress on finishing the interiors of the master suite, play room and downstairs craft room!
Crafty!
Lawn Appreciation Post!! 🌱
After the recent completion of the new garden wall, which creates the boundary for the new driveway, we seeded the rest of the lawn three weeks ago just in time for some welcome rain!
As the saying goes, “the grass ISN’T always greener on the other side, it’s greener where you water it!”
Super pleased with how this wall and the lawn area has turned out.
1 week kitchen renovation.
In a little under a week we’ve transformed the kitchen. This is a temporary fix whilst we wait for some funds to complete a big extension to the house and the barn, but that’s a little while away.
Special thanks go to , .east and .a.east for their help to make this happen.
Temporary kitchen renovation is underway!
We got a delivery! Hoping for some stone wall progress this week! 😅
Project update. We’ve just about finished the groundwork’s for the new driveway, foundations for the new wall and opened up the gateway.
A long way to go yet but loads achieved in just a few weeks. One of the more satisfying jobs completed so far!
Mid project update. We’ve started one of the main parts of our renovation, taking out the old annexe (circa 1980) and putting in a very much needed driveway!
With archaeologist and ecologists watching we’ve taken out some very questionable building work and put this house back to the way it should be.
We’ve opened up the gateway to create a new space and we’ll be erecting a wall on the inside to shelter the garden from the road.
Here’s a before and after.
Thanks to the local farmer for lending us some big machines to help with the heavy lifting!
Fast work with our new digger driver.
We’ve been a bit rubbish with putting updates recently. Sorry!
Lots of work still going on…we’re focusing on finishing rooms on one side of the house at the moment. Its slow and detailed work but here is todays achievement!
Photo is of the playroom progress!
With a lot of help from the family, we have a master bedroom and carpet!
Another room painted! Go team…by team I mean Fran! 😳
Another day…more progress. wood floor section complete ready for carpet this week!
Paint finished…floor going down.
Look at that beam 😍
Staircase nearly complete. Now time for paint!
Before and after. Creative door hanging for the en-suite!
Lime plastering in Amelia’s room is done ✅
Next to make it all safari! Watch this space…🐾🐷🐶🙊🙀🦄🐝🐐🐸🦆🦊🐥🐞
Amelia’s room has a door! It’s still a building site but she looks pretty happy about it! 🚪
Lime plastering described in two words…tedious and expensive. Part 3 of 7 🥱
Those walls gotta breathe though! 🫁
Lounge is coming along nicely! 2nd and third coats to do and then we can focus on the floor.
Plumbing is in for the en-suite to the master suite. Sweet! 🤣
Painting team have arrived!
Harry trying his hand at the plastering (stilts)… didn’t make it passed the front door. Probably for the best 😂
Plaster on our main bedroom ceiling today!! Wahoo!! And look at our fancy beam we found in an old wall! 😍
We have some special guests visiting from abroad next week, so we’ve temporarily made room by moving into one of our newly renovated but half completed rooms!
This has made finishing this room seem very achievable and we’re extremely close to getting it done. It will look better we promise.
Just a few more months and we’ll have some of our home comforts back.
In the meantime, this is quite the upgrade!
This is the so called “craft room”.
It’s a little room at the back of the house where we’re going to put Fran (aka “The Crafter”) to work. It’s also a place for Amelia to get crafty when she’s learned which end of the paint brush shouldn’t go in her mouth!
It also serves as a side entrance to the house and has a walk in cupboard to put your crafty things in!
More updates on this room to follow…
We have light! 💡
A long road getting here but we can finally see without work lights 😀
Might have to get our paint brush out soon! 🤣

Day 530…again… In my best building attire…crocks and loungewear…I do a lot of pointing and directing to get this beam up into the house with the help of a local farmer! Rest assured there were qualified personnel to receive the beam inside the house. The life lesson here is, when your not dressed to do the work, wave your hands about a bit and pretend you know what you’re doing 😂 Thank you to the local farmer for allowing us to borrow his forks!
