BRT is coming to Kaduna!!!

KDSG launches the Kaduna Bus Rapid Transit (KBRT) Project

Today, Governor Nasir El-Rufai and The Deputy Governor of Kaduna State performed the groundbreaking rites for the Kaduna Bus Rapid Transit (KBRT) Project at the KBRT Depot Site Kakuri Kaduna.

The KBRT project which is supported by Agence Francaise De Development-AFD (French Agency for Development) and led by the Kaduna State Transport Regulatory Authority (KADSTRA) in collaboration with Kaduna Transport Line,will provide state-of-the-art high capacity bus systems, that travel on exclusive lanes with an estimated 160,000 daily commuters.

At the event the Director General KADSTRA, Aisha Sa’idu-Bala stated that the project will create a 24-km BRT corridor from Kawo to Sabon Tasha, including: 30 stations with exclusive right-of-way with safe pedestrian crossings;widening of the River Kaduna Bridge to retrofit dedicated lanes for the BRT.

She added that,the bus fleet will include 120 articulated 18-meter buses, including 10 spare buses providing the people of Kaduna with alternative,convenient and reliable modes of transportation,covering more routes than ever before.

Also in attendance at the groundbreaking event were the Country Director- AFD, Xavier Muron ,the French Ambassador, Emmanuelle Blatma and other senior KDSG officials.

The administration of Governor El-Rufai has attracted African Mines and Steel Company which invested $600m in Kaduna. It is a multi billion Naira Iron Ore mining company located in Gujeni, Kagarko LGA Kaduna State, 19 km from Abuja.
The mining plant is situated on over 500 hectares of land with an expected workforce of over 3,500 direct jobs and over 10,000 indirect jobs . The plant is under construction and the first phase is about to be completed

In 2015, Nigeria spent N4.9bn importing military gears and uniforms from Turkiye and elsewhere. In 2019,President Muhammadu Buhari invited the Turkish company to build a factory here in collaboration with DICON in Kaduna to produce 1.2m military gears annually. Here’s the result.
Before this new factory was built in Kaduna, existing military factories were revived to boost production locally in line with Executive Order 03 by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Now we will have the capacity to produce military uniforms for other African countries while over 1002 are employed, as the cotton for feedstock is available in the Northwest .

It is a well designed commercial hub that contains 105 luxury shops of different sqm sizes.

Item of Work: All structural works have been completed. Installation of window glasses, electrical and sanitary fittings are ongoing, alongside external concrete and landscaping works.

Governor Nasir El-Rufai has just commissioned the Kaduna Galaxy Mall and Neighbourhood Centre.

Galaxy Mall occupies 5.7 hectares expanse of land located at the heart of the Kaduna City Center.

The mall contains retail stores in different sizes, restaurants, cinema, and a major anchor tenant Shoprite Nigeria .

Other facilities include a gate-house, parking pay points, water treatment building, restrooms and a 505 capacity car park to ensure a wholesome experience for all residents and visitors.

Item of Work: Installation of fixtures at the fire service station, police station, banking hall & shops

External finishing works including placement of interlocking tiles are also ongoing.

The project is being developed in line with sustainable best practices.
Upon completion, it will serve the commercial needs of Tudun Wada and other adjoining communities of Kaduna South LGA.

Kaduna Education : El- Rufai Approves Recruitment Of Additional 10,000 Teachers.

Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State has approved the recruitment of additional ten thousand teachers by the State Universal Basic Education Board(KADSUBEB).

A statement issued by the Executive Chairman of KADSUBEB, Tijjani Abdullahi, said that the board has commissioned Kaduna State University(KASU) to design and upload a recruitment portal, which will go live on Thursday, July 21st, 2022.

The Executive Chairman explains that ‘suitably qualified candidates with either a National Certificate of Education(NCE) from an accredited institution, a Bachelor’s Degree in Education(B. Ed, B.A Ed, B. Sc, Bd, B. Tech in any discipline from a reputable university) are eligible to apply.
