Really?
De La Hoya Breaks Down Mayweather/Pacquiao Power 😳
At the tail-end of his career, Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya faced both Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao. De La Hoya lost a close twelve round split decision to Mayweather in 2007 and the following year he was stopped inside the distance by Pacquiao.
With Mayweather-Pacquiao still being the biggest fight in boxing, De La Hoya discussed the punching power of both boxers - which he believes is about the same. De La Hoya wasn't bothered by the power of either fighter, stating that Pacquiao broke him down with an accumulation of punishment.
"I had good whiskers. We all know that Mayweather is not known for a good punch. It stings. I would have to say they are about the same. It's funny because I didn't feel Pacquiao's punch. It didn't do anything to me.
Maybe it was because Pacquiao was coming up in weight and that was his first fight at welterweight," De La Hoya said.
"So I really didn't feel his punch. With him it was more of the accumulation. The only difference is, Pacquiao has more of the ability to knock you out, but he has to land the perfect punch. But Pacquiao doesn't have the good timing like Mayweather. I would say they are about the same."
