The purpose of this page/newspaper is for residents of Golden Valley, Chloride, Dolan Springs, Yucca, White Hills and any other rural community to get information about accidents, fires, crimes, and community events.
Its a free news source and will rely on a concept I am naming the citizen reporter. Each and everyone of you can be a citizen reporter. All that is asked is you use common sense reporting and stick to facts. If you are reporting a fire don't report the exact address but instead the street and block number. If you report an accident don't post graphic pictures or release an injured or deceased persons name until after the Sheriff or police agency does. Do post the location.
The goal is to produce high quality citizen based reporting of events and to promote community events and sense of community.
Another goal is to be apolitical! This this not about politics its about reporting news and community!
There will be a place for opinion pieces about the various communities and businesses within them. Again a request for good unbiased reporting! If you live in one of the communities and love living there write about it and why! I believe that can be done without being political!
If you love a local business and want to write about it do it! Again be professional about it! If you own the business or are the business owners best friend are you really the person to be writing about it? Keep it honest!
This is not a place for gossip or slandering residents! Keep your posts relevant and your comments polite and thank the citizen reporter for reporting!
