Interested in getting jobs for no extra money?

You need to learn about reactivation campaigns.

A reactivation campaign is a type of marketing campaign that targets warm leads or previous customers. Anyone who previously showed interest in your services but didn’t buy or who previously used your services but who no longer interacts with your business would be part of this target audience.

Here’s why you need a reactivation campaign:
1. Results in fast and large growth in revenue. These sorts of campaigns are extremely effective because they target people who already are aware of or have an existing relationship with your business. That means you aren’t spending as much money on marketing and it is easier to sell to them than a stranger.

2. Much cheaper than acquiring new customers. People buy from businesses they trust. It costs 5x as much to bring in new customers than it does to retain your current customers.

3. Improve your relationship with your customers. Reactivation campaigns are a great way to catch up with your existing customer base or warm leads that haven’t quite been ready to buy from you yet. More than 80% of customers consider trust a deciding factor in their buying decisions but only 34% trust the brands they buy from. Differentiate yourself by communicating with your clients.

4.Discover ways to make your business better. As you reach out to your client with your offers and follow up on the communication end, you will learn much about why your customers or potential customers stopped engaging with your business. You can use this feedback to improve your business processes and build an even better business.

Sounds great right? Okay, you’re saying, so how do I run one of these?

I know that for many of you work is drying up.

Homeowners are tightening their purses because of layoffs, inflation, and so many other factors. I know some of you are dealing with the same. Maybe you’re worried about if your business will survive the oncoming recession, worried that material prices will get too high and that coupled with clients who want to pay less than before makes everything harder.

They say that crisis is an opportunity so here are 4 tips on how you can come out ahead during the recession.

1. Renegotiate with your suppliers. You aren’t the only one hurting from the recession. In general contractors are seeing less work which means there are less supplies being bought. This hurts suppliers’ businesses as well since they aren’t able to move as much material. Suppliers during recessions are often more likely to offer discounts if they know they will be getting steady business from you.

2. Start investing in good business processes. Many contractors are still doing so much manually when it comes to things like accounting, invoicing, payroll, project management, etc. This creates a lot of inefficiencies in the business that bog you down instead of freeing up your time to be more productive and do more money-generating activities.

3. Expand your client list. We’ve talked about the downsides of word of mouth marketing before and one of the biggest cons is that you’re limited by how big your client’s network is. Just as your past and current clients are affected by the recession, so is their network. You can’t rely on a steady supply of referrals as you were doing before. So now it is more necessary than ever to find new ways of acquiring customers, whether through marketing, cold calling, or otherwise.

4. Scoop up talent at a discount. If you find yourself running a tight ship during the recession and growing faster than expected, the recession is a great time to scoop up talent at a discount as many other contractors who aren’t doing as well will be laying off workers to cut costs.

What changes have you made to your business to deal with the upcoming recession? Comment down below. Let’s open up a discussion.

I read this book many years ago and it changed how I thought about life. For those of you who haven’t read it before, the premise of the book essentially boils down to the fact that we never run out of problems in the world and that is a good thing.

You see the book divides problems into different tiers. At every stage of life you will be in a different tier tackling different problems. The secret to success is to graduate up into the next tier up on the problem ladder.

You see, as humans we don’t truly want to run out of problems. The human brain is wired for problem solving. The beauty of life is being able to solve the problems we find interesting and getting to ignore the problems that we don’t need to attend to.
A homeless person and Jeff Bezos both have problems they need to deal with in their life. The difference is that the homeless person has to figure out where his next meal is coming from and Jeff Bezos is probably trying to figure out how he can turn his $142 billion into many more billions.

Now you might say, Jeff Bezos doesn’t actually have any real problems with that kind of money. And maybe you’re right about that. Because the higher up the ladder of problems you climb, the less those things become “problems” and the more they simply become challenges for you to resolve.

But the mindset that you need to take with you to overcome either a problem or challenge in front of you is the same. I think the best take away I got from the book was that life can be full of endless problems if you want it to be, but you should only focus on giving a f**k about solving the problems that are actually important to you and propel you to move forward in your life in whatever venture you want.

Learning to ignore the noise and the other problems that are just a distraction from getting the things you really want will take you to the next tier on the problem ladder. When you get there, you’ll look back on your struggles now and think about how hard it was but how much determination and strength you had to overcome those difficulties standing in your way. It will be so much more fun and rewarding when you get there.

Hey! Wondering how you can attract more customers? Here’s are 5 tips on how to be the first company customers think of when considering remodelling

Here are 4 downfalls of word of mouth marketing (and 3 alternatives):

1. It’s only as good as your client’s network. Statistics show that among satisfied customers, only about 35% will actually refer your business to someone else. Of those referrals, only 12% will actually contact the company directly.

2. Slow growth. Especially in the kitchen and bath remodel industry, you’re lucky sometimes to get a job every couple of years from a customer you worked for previously.

3. No accurate data. You have no idea how effective word of mouth advertising is because you don’t know how many people actually refer your business, how long it takes for them to choose to work with you vs another contractor, and how many actually go with you after being recommended.

4. Can’t control the message. Good reviews and testimonials are great for your business but if you have one unhappy customer that spreads how unhappy they are with the business, it can really damage your brand and keep new customers from acquiring your services.

Alternatives:

1. Content Creation. Bring people to your business by putting out content that helps them make their purchasing decisions. In the kitchen and bath remodel space, that could take the form of blog posts, youtube videos, etc where you post educational content about remodelling, what to look for in a good general contractor, etc.

2. Paid Advertising. You can get over 80,000 people viewing your ads for $1000/month. That’s a huge amount of people. Even if 1% of people click on your ad, that’s 800 potential customers. Paid advertising means that you no longer are bound to your customer’s network for new work. Digital advertising allows business owners to keep track of metrics that affect customer acquisition so that they can plan their growth instead of just hoping for it.

3. Search Engine Optimization. 99.2% of searches don’t click through to the second page of their google search. If you can get on the first page of google for your services, you’ll constantly get new customers. With SEO you can get a lot of data about metrics that drive customer acquisition and project business growth based on those statistics.
