This is what the Holy Spirit discussed with me today đŸ„°

These verses are speaking to me this morning
..

Job 1: 20-22

Reflection: I asked myself, “How many times did I rebel against the LORD because something didn’t go my way?”

MANY TIMES!!! I’ve done it intentionally and unintentionally unfortunately 😅
.but that’s okay.

I just thank the Lord for revealing this flaw in my heart and I know He will guide me to spiritual maturity đŸ„°

“
Blessed be the name of the Lord!”

Have a good morning everyone!

I want to share a revelation that God revealed to me when I was in a challenging period in my life. I was confused and questioning God regarding corruption in leaders and leadership. He revealed to me his sovereignty in that He has complete control and authority over everything. Nothing happens without His knowledge or permission. I took me almost a year to digest this one bite of information. Some may not be able to comprehend this revelation. For those that will be blessed by it, help others to.

Explaining that God appoints and permits all leaders, even those who may appear unjust or evil, is challenging but deeply rooted in scripture. A balanced way to share this is by showing how God’s sovereignty works beyond human understanding and often serves purposes we may not immediately grasp. Here are a few ways to approach this:

1. Emphasize God’s Sovereignty and Purpose:
God’s ultimate authority means that no leader rises to power without His knowledge and permission. Daniel 2:21 says, “He changes times and seasons; he removes kings and sets up kings.” This passage emphasizes that God is in control of all leadership transitions, even those we may not agree with or understand.
2. Explain Through Biblical Examples of Bad Leaders:
‱ Pharaoh of Egypt: God allowed Pharaoh, a hard-hearted and oppressive ruler, to hold power, even though he enslaved Israel. In Romans 9:17, Paul references Exodus, saying, “For the Scripture says to Pharaoh: ‘I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.’” Pharaoh’s resistance and oppression ultimately led to the liberation of Israel and a display of God’s power and justice.
‱ King Saul: Saul was Israel’s first king, chosen by God but known for his disobedience and jealousy. Saul’s poor leadership helped reveal Israel’s need for a king after God’s heart, leading to David’s eventual anointing. Saul’s reign showed the consequences of straying from God’s commands and the need for righteous leadership.
‱ Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon: God allowed Nebuchadnezzar to conquer Jerusalem and take the people of Israel into captivity. Jeremiah 27:6 says, “Now I will give all your countries into the hands of my servant Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon.” This was a severe period for Israel, yet God used this captivity to refine and refocus His people on their dependence on Him alone.
3. Show the Purpose of Hardship and Leadership as Discipline:
In the Old Testament, God often allowed Israel to come under oppressive rulers when they turned away from Him. Judges 2:11-23 illustrates a cycle where Israel would fall into sin, face oppression, cry out to God, and then be delivered by a judge God raised up. This cyclical pattern demonstrates how God used difficult times and flawed leaders to redirect Israel back to faithfulness.
4. Point to God’s Ultimate Justice:
God’s allowance of oppressive leaders does not mean He condones evil. Instead, He uses these situations to bring about growth, reliance on Him, or even judgment for nations. In the end, all leaders will answer to God’s judgment (Revelation 20:12). Psalm 75:7 says, “It is God who executes judgment, putting down one and lifting up another.” God will hold every leader accountable, but He may allow them to lead for a season to accomplish His purposes, which may be beyond human understanding.
5. Encourage a Perspective of Trust and Obedience:
Romans 13:1-2 reminds believers to submit to authorities, as they are established by God. While this does not mean passive acceptance of wrongdoing, it challenges us to trust in God’s wisdom and timing. When faced with challenging leadership, believers can find peace by remembering God’s greater plan and responding with obedience and faith rather than fear.

“When people question how a bad leader can be in power, remember that God has a long history of allowing even difficult or wicked leaders to play a role in His plan. It doesn’t mean He supports their actions but that He can use any leader to refine His people, call them back to Him, or set the stage for a greater outcome. Just as He permitted Pharaoh’s cruelty to reveal His power and Saul’s jealousy to reveal Israel’s need for a righteous king, God can use challenging leaders today to ultimately fulfill His purposes. This requires us to trust His wisdom even when we don’t see the full picture.”

How hard is it for you to put today’s verse of the day into action? It’s so tempting to say: Well that’s what he/she/they did or do to me, so I’m going to do it to them! Or how about this trendy saying: “I’m going to match their same energy!”

So what do you do to void paying back wrong with wrong? What are some things you say to yourself to steer clear of that mentality? ïżŒ

“Be sure that no one pays back wrong for wrong. But always try to do what is good for each other and for all people.”
‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭15‬ ‭ERV‬‬

Be sure that no one pays back wrong for wrong. But always try to do what is good for each other and for all people.

Jesus Wept

Have you ever been hurting so much that no words would help? Maybe you’ve experienced unimaginable pain and grief. Or maybe you’re trying to comfort someone else. But in those moments, it’s rarely the right words that fix our broken hearts. It’s usually someone sitting with us in our pain that makes the difference.

And that’s why just two words make up one of the most powerful verses in all of Scripture:

Jesus wept. John 11:35 NIV

Jesus Himself experienced pain, loss, grief, and sorrow. And even though Jesus knew how the story would end, He still wept in the middle of it.

Let’s back up and get some context for this incredible story. Jesus hears about one of his dear friends, Lazarus, who is sick. Jesus proclaims that his sickness won’t end in death. But as He gets sicker, Jesus doesn’t go heal Him.

Flash forward, Jesus knows that Lazarus has died, and He travels to visit him and his family. Jesus talks to both of Lazarus’ sisters, and He sees them weeping. How did He respond?

He doesn’t minimize their pain. He doesn’t offer easy answers or great sounding one-liners. He’s with them, and He weeps.

Soon after, Jesus raises Lazarus from the dead in an incredible miracle, foreshadowing His own resurrection that would give all of us the opportunity to be friends with God.

Raising Lazarus is a miracle that reminds us God can resurrect our disappointment, our grief, and our pain. He can take what’s lost and make it whole again. But many of us live more often in the middle of the story. We’re stuck before the miracle—living in the waiting.

Lazarus’ story gives us hope not just because it has a happy ending but because we serve a God who is with us in every phase of the story. God is near to the brokenhearted. When we weep, Jesus is with us. He understands us. He sees us, and He meets us in our pain and disappointment.

Our emotions are a gift from God to remind us to be close to God. So when we experience sorrow, we don’t have to push it aside. Even though we know how the story ends, it’s okay to weep in the middle because weeping can still be worship when we invite God into it.

Pray: Jesus, thank You for showing me how I can process pain. Thanks for being with me in the weeping, in the waiting, and in the worshiping. I invite You into all of my present pain. Help me not ignore my sorrow but to experience Your joy even in the midst of it. I give You everything. In Jesus’ name, amen.
