The work of the army of volunteers and the hundreds of individuals and businesses making big and small donations this week in City of Arcadia has been inspirationally staggering, as you'll see in the 2-min video below of news coverage highlights interwoven with photos and video posts by volunteer organizer Chelsea Hettrick, who has been logging many miles commuting to the center at sunrise every morning and staying till it shuts down after sunset.
The fire relief donation center at Santa Anita Park has been extended to remain open thru Friday for pick-up of supplies 9 am-6 pm Thursday and Friday (Jan 16-17).
The center is not in need of anymore donations and is not accepting any clothing or shoes.

Star Trek actor George Takei played a young man in the 1960 movie Hell to Eternity whose family is being sent to Santa Anita Park when it was being used as a government Assembly Center in 1942 for Japanese-Americans following the attack on Pearl Harbor.
