The American customers have created the demand and her furniture’s success comes from a network of proprietors. Many are interior designers who have included her work in projects for mythical places, in sumptuous homes, like the Gourgaud Villa in southern Corsica,” Matthias Jousse comments.

In this first issue of Objection, she imagined the historical inhabitants of in Elena Rendina images. “Elena’s photographs create a dazzling cohabitation of past and present. They gave me the idea of resurrecting apparitions of former Charleston House residents, who become aware that times are changing and they will soon disappear. While writing this scene I thought about the luminous agony of the Chekhov’s last acts, when he exposed all the beauty of the world as everything crumbled,” the author comments.

Clara Giaminardi | Objects and Memories.

Clara chose memories as the theme for her contribution to . Delving into the childhood memories of young London artists:
, , , and .seal.

They were asked to recall a favourite object from their childhood living rooms. Giaminardi then created 3D artworks of these items.

“How we intimately filter remembered details is something I find beautiful and fascinating.” Clara Giaminardi

For this project had to step out of her comfort zone “As a photographer, visualising and manipulating something from scratch is far from my normal creative process.”

She researched the history of design, looking for tethers and visual research that would lead her to the right ‘making process’ for this project.

“During the first lockdown, I began learning 3D software to keep myself busy since I wasn’t able to get out and take pictures as usual. This seemed like the perfect tool to explore remembrance, to create something both physical and ephemeral, and it is visually close to my photographic process yet so distant from the material reality I usually explore in my work.”
