The B2B cross-border e-commerce export market is predicted to reach $2.02 trillion in 2025 🌎💻

Last month, the Yuguo Global Cross-Border E-Commerce Selection Exhibition (CCBEC) in Shenzhen gathered more than 1,600 exhibitors — as more Chinese enterprises turn to cross-border e-commerce platforms to sell their products.

Passionate about cross-cultural communication and storytelling as a kid, Ophelia brings to the team her insights into cross-border brand strategy, and diverse experiences of crafting brand voices in a multicultural background.

With a BA in Simon Fraser University, MA from University of Westminster , and 8+ years of experience from both Canadian and Chinese agencies as well as media outlets — she keeps finding herself excited about connecting communities, and sharing impactful stories.

💡 Can you tell us a bit more about your role at Sageus Collective?
I work with our in-house creative team to help our diverse roster of clients find their own brand voice, and build their impact — through establishing fundamental brand strategy, digital marketing efforts, or managing influencer and community relationships.

💡 What's your favourite thing about working at Sageus Collective?
Ever since I was a little kid, I've always been intrigued by storytelling — and especially in multicultural contexts. Having started as an international student in Vancouver, I love that I get to dedicate both professional and personal experiences towards building a bigger impact at Sageus Collective.

💡 What's a social impact that matters to you personally?
Female empowerment. I come from a family of so many strong female figures that to me, there is no question in the importance of empowering more women to make a difference.

💡 Can you tell us a fun fact about yourself?
Food and horror movies are my therapy dupe! Currently I'm binge-watching The Last of Us — and I would always love to connect with a fellow foodie.

A night of tremendous inspiration 📽️🏆 As we reflect on the historic evening in Hollywood that saw "Everything Everywhere All At Once" claim 7 Oscars at the , we are beaming with pride, hope, and passion.

Making history as the first Asian woman to win the Oscar for Best Actress, Michelle Yeoh's speech will remain an inspiration to the Asian creative community: "For all the little boys and girls who look like me watching tonight, this is a beacon of hope and possibilities. This is proof that dreams dream big, and dreams do come true.” We're also ecstatic for Ke Huy Quan, who became the most awarded actor this season, capping it off with the Oscar for Best Actor.

Not only was the evening a significant moment for Asian representation and excellence in film, it was a reminder that it takes a community, a team, a collective. As Jamie Lee Curtis said: "I know it looks like I'm standing up here by myself but I am not, I am hundreds of people."

Compared to the West where tourism started as early as the 1800s, tourism in China prior was mostly a luxury for many. With that comes some unique travelling behaviours. In early January, Sageus celebrated Xiaohan (or Minor Cold in the Chinese solar term) with a private event called 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙪𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝘿𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜: 𝘽𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙊𝙪𝙧 𝙍𝙤𝙤𝙩𝙨. At the cozy VAN CHA house, we gathered with dear friends and colleagues to share inspirational stories and a sumptuous, seven-course root-vegetable dinner designed by the talented Chef Tushar Tondvalkar. The evening, beautifully captured in this video by Mark Yuen Visuals, warmed, nourished, and stimulated our spirits during the coldest period of the year.

The event also planted new seeds that now, as we move into Yushui (Rain Water), are ready to sprout.

We are very pleased to announce Intuitive Dining, an exclusive series of solar-calendar dinners hosted by Sageus founder ChiChi Wang and renowned restaurant critic Alexandra Gill.

ChiChi and Alex look forward to welcoming you on the journey, one that seeks to deepen our mindful connection to the dynamic pathways of food.

The first step to engaging the Chinese audience is to understand that Chinese social media platforms are in a league of their own — compared to North American mainstream platforms like Instagram , Facebook, or TikTok. Have you heard about the ? 🏮 Taking place today, the Lantern Festival marks the end of the 15-day Lunar New Year celebration.

Typically, it is celebrated by enjoying glutinous rice balls (or Tangyuan) — as the Chinese pronunciation sounds like ""reunion"", bringing a sense of togetherness 👨‍👩‍👧 Other traditions include solving riddles on paper lanterns — which are typically red, and also symbolize people letting go of their past selves before heading into the next year.

At Intuitive Dining: Beginning With Our Roots, we went back to the fundamentals. Featuring an evening of conversations and reflection highlighted by the exquisite seven-course meal prepared by Chef Tushar Tondvalkar, the emphasis was on food uniting the body, mind, and spirit in a calm and quiet state.

As we look to engage with more Intuitive Dining experiences ahead, we can't wait to continue embracing food and all its benefits.
