Good morning, Gambia!

Lamin Kebbeh was born in Jokadu, where he grew up and did much of his schooling. In an effort to find better educational opportunities, he moved to the urban areas staying with relatives.

After finishing school, as his parents’ only child, Lamin began doing menial jobs to make ends meet and help his family back in Jokadu.

At one point, he used to sell “fukajay” (used clothes) in Banjul.

He later applied to work as a trainee mechanical apprentice at the Gambia Ports Authority after working in the cleaning department for sometime.

His life began to improve. He rose through the ranks and was sent to Ghana for further studies.

On Saturday, July 29, Lamin Kebbeh graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from Regional Maritime University in Ghana - one of the best of its kind in the world.

Kebbeh is the first engineering university graduate from his home village of Jokadou Karantaba.

Right now, it is visible and symbolized in an echo to the eardrum that the current government of The Gambia is failed and blinded in their initial dream of developing the nation. What is happening now in the country dramatized how incompetent and heartless the officials of the government of The Gambia are. They used and still using President Barrow to keep implicating himself into a mess which he can't escape from. But unfortunately, President Barrow refused to see the light that he was used and still used by bandits, heartless, and selfish coworkers to run the country!

Waa Gambia,

Do not ever trust a man on a white horse…

Thousands of Gambian youths are going to bed today disappointed and heartbroken. After wasting millions of dollars, this government has once again failed to deliver a stadium fit for a simple football match.

The situation is totally out of control and the biggest loser is the Gambian youth.

Reminds me of a series I wrote couple of years back “USED, ABUSED AND DUMPED : THE NEW GAMBIA PROJECT IS DISASTER FOR YOUTHS”.
Here’s a snippet from that series:

“When I started the series with the above title (on my blog, Sabally Public Square) a fortnight ago; I thought I would just be dwelling on the past sins of the Barrow Administration and linking them to current realities. But, lo, and behold, this government that never fails to amaze us with their perennial malfeasance, availed me with more points to validate my thesis last night.”

From the infamous per diem palaver to the disastrous Stadium renovation project, Adama Barrow and BAKARY Badjie have connived to defraud and hoodwink The Gambian youths.

From chronic youth unemployment, to deportation; and now it’s the foreign minister Momodou Tangara insinuating that Gambia’s back-way boys are dangerous criminals that can be used to terrorise the world.

This heartless bunch is hellbent on destroying our youths.

It’s sad and hard to say, but honestly BAKARY Badjie should be fired if he doesn’t want to resign!

GAMBIA COLLEGE BRANCH AT BASSE

There is information reaching us that the students at the Gambia college branch in Basse are encountering hardships in all aspects of their lives on campus. According to an insider, food is a diamond to have on this campus because, there is an availability of only launch, but not dinner and breakfast. And the price of basic needs and services is very costly. An insider went further to say, the college was located between Mansajang and Sabi to torment students. If someone feels seriously sick on this campus, the person might lose his or her life, because the college is far from the Basse hospital, and the student union doesn't have a vehicle to be ready to welcome such a situation.

An insider continued to say that the expense is like an atomic bombing for students who come from poor family backgrounds. Everything on this campus is not helping the Gambia educational system, because students are struggling with their hungry selves to seek knowledge. The expenses are as follows, the accommodation fee for a month is 300, the launch for a month is 200, the electricity fee for a month is 100, and 100 dalasis for breakfast and dinner daily. You can do the maths. Can you help us to publish this information for government to see and help us? Thank you. From a concerned student.
