Repost: Happy and Indigenous Peoples Month!
What Indigiq***r book will you commit to reading this month?
🌈🪶🌱💫💕📚
I tried to fit as many authors as I could, but of course this is a non-exhaustive list!
I chose to specifically highlight q***r Indigenous reads because safe spaces for Indigiq***rs (as you may or may not know) are far and few between. Q***r spaces are often unsafe for Indigenous folks, and Indigenous spaces are often unsafe for q***r folks. Let’s make this change!

Speak beauty into the world. Reminisce and recreate because the land remembers too. The way that we dance our feet into the ground, we can say ‘miigwech’ for holding us, for being the foundation when our people were too broken to hold us up. When we see two spirit, q***r trans youth making it through this world, speak their power back to them. Nmiigwechwendam. Tell the land how deeply in love you are with words that go back thousands of years.. Make poems from the wisps of steam coming from your cedar tea. Speak them into yourself and when you’re done, exhale it all back into the world. Communicate your love for the land. Notice all the miraculous intricacies of moss, mushrooms and maybe birch bark.
Speak this beauty into the world. -from N’dinowewin: A Guide to TwoSpirit Love Languages with the Land by: Danielle Boissoneau
Included in our Lanaguges of Love Anthology. Pre-order today! Link in bio.
