The remains found in Georgetown, SC on May 11 have been confirmed to be of , who was last seen in Myrtle Breach, SC in 2009, visiting with friends from Rochester, NY.

Dawn Drexel said in a news conference, “We are much closer to the closure and the peace that we have been desperately hoping for. It may have took them a long time, but we are glad that we are able to bring Brittanee home.”

A person of interest early on in the case, 62 year old Raymond Moody with a heinous criminal past, has been charged with murder, kidnapping, and third-degree criminal sexual conduct. He’s being held without bail.
