This morning on GMR8 we talked about the Olympics while we snacked on a cheese board that Kristina masterfully put together. The last time the Olympics were held in Paris was in 1924!

You can watch the opening ceremony on K8-NBC at 12:30 pm. If you miss it, an encore telecast will air at 6:30 tonight.

I wasn’t on GMR8 this week, but I was still working! I’ve been in California for the 2024 Investigative Reporters and Editors Conference!

It’s been heartening to see journalists from all over come together to make our stories better across the board. I’ve met some great journalists and learned a lot. I’m so thankful to work for a station that invests in learning opportunities like this ❤️

Putting Chase’s photography skills aside, it’s been a great year of delivering news in Region 8, and I’m excited to see what the next year brings here 💙❤️

The May K8 News Teacher of the Month is Aaron Coots from Gosnell High School. He has a lot on his plate with teaching a college and careers class, assistant coaching the football team, and head coaching the baseball team.
