ಭಾರತದ ಸುಪ್ರೀಂ ಕೋರ್ಟ್‌ 2027ರಲ್ಲಿ ಮೊದಲ ಬಾರಿಗೆ ಮಹಿಳಾ ಮುಖ್ಯ ನ್ಯಾಯಮೂರ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಕಾಣಲಿದೆ. ನ್ಯಾಯಮೂರ್ತಿ ಬಿ.ವಿ.ನಾಗರತ್ನ ಭಾರತದ ಮುಖ್ಯ ನ್ಯಾಯಮೂರ್ತಿ ಸ್ಥಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಏರುವ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆ ಇದೆ.

ಭಾರತದ ಮುಖ್ಯ ನ್ಯಾಯಮೂರ್ತಿ ಎನ್‌.ವಿ.ರಮಣ ನೇತೃತ್ವದ ಸುಪ್ರೀಂ ಕೋರ್ಟ್‌ನ ಕೊಲಿಜಿಯಂ, ನ್ಯಾಯಮೂರ್ತಿಗಳ ನೇಮಕಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಒಟ್ಟು ಒಂಬತ್ತು ಜನರ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಮಂಗಳವಾರ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸರ್ಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಶಿಫಾರಸು ಮಾಡಿದೆ.

ಒಂಬತ್ತು ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂವರು ಮಹಿಳಾ ನ್ಯಾಯಮೂರ್ತಿಗಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರು, ತೆಲಂಗಾಣ ಹೈಕೋರ್ಟ್‌ನ ಮುಖ್ಯ ನ್ಯಾಯಮೂರ್ತಿ ಹಿಮಾ ಕೊಹ್ಲಿ, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಹೈಕೋರ್ಟ್‌ನ ನ್ಯಾಯಮೂರ್ತಿ ಬಿ.ವಿ.ನಾಗರತ್ನ ಹಾಗೂ ಗುಜರಾತ್‌ ಹೈಕೋರ್ಟ್‌ನ ನ್ಯಾಯಮೂರ್ತಿ ಬೆಲಾ ತ್ರಿವೇದಿ.

ಸುಪ್ರೀಂ ಕೋರ್ಟ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಒಂಬತ್ತು ನ್ಯಾಯಮೂರ್ತಿಗಳ ಸ್ಥಾನ ಖಾಲಿ ಇದೆ. ಇಂದು ನ್ಯಾಯಮೂರ್ತಿ ನವಿನ್‌ ಸಿನ್ಹಾ ನಿವೃತ್ತರಾಗಲಿದ್ದು, ಖಾಲಿ ಇರುವ ಸ್ಥಾನಗಳ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ 10ಕ್ಕೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಳವಾಗಲಿದೆ.
