Does it sound good? .....Good. There is no voodoo.” -Chris Lord Alge. Hi all, my name is Travis LaMothe and Sunderland Sounds is my passion project. The name Sunderland Sounds was inspired by a small home that my wife and I boug
ht on the banks of the Connecticut River in Sunderland, Massachusetts, that had a beautiful loft studio built where a horse stable once lived. It inspired me to learn about about the truth of sound. It inspired me to find a center. It inspired me to combine all of my experiences and to speak them, cohesively, into the music in a way I’d not done before. Holistically. I am a 24 year veteran of the music industry. I am a professional drum set and percussion performance artist and teacher, student, and an aspiring audio engineer, producer, and post-production engineer. I’ve played venues all over the Northeast and East Coast US from jazz clubs in Manhattan to outdoor festivals in front of tens of thousands of people. I’ve had musical triumphs and musical tragedies. I've been lucky enough to play with and support some of the following groups on both drum set and percussion; The Last Goodnight (Virgin Records), Ward Hayden and the Outliers, (Lonesome Day Records), Kat Wright and the Indomitable Soul Band (Burlington, VT), Glenn Yoder and the Western States (Washington D.C.), The Bright Wings (previously from Boston , MA), The Dead Set tribute band (Burlington, VT), Rane (Hartford, CT), Jimmy and the Hat Tricks (GB - Hartford, CT), and many, many more. It’s not lost on me how lucky I've been to bump shoulders with such an array of amazing musicians, and further more how fortunate I've been in accepting the challenge of constant improvement through hard work and humility. In recent years, I've put in significant time studying the essence of pro audio from the basics of signal theory, to intermediate and advanced engineering, production and post production technique and theory. I've had the good fortune of learning from some great New England-based audio engineers and producers and have put that knowledge to use. I've been equally lucky to work on several albums, live records, and also more commercial projects like ad jingles and promotional compositions. My mission is simple. I want to provide you with a vehicle to create and acquire the audio production that you're seeking. You define the project and result your seeking, and I strategize with you on how to get there. I do one project at a time, and work to get it right so everyone walks out the door with exactly what’s expected. I encourage you to examine the work I’ve done on the video page (lots more content to come over the next few days,) and to consider me for your next album mix and master, live show mix and master, promotional video composition, commercial jingle, and/or any other product that falls within this scope. All projects are custom designed to your needs. Currently, my studio is scoped to composition and post-production opportunities, with an expansion and buildout for full production capabilities scheduled for early 2022. One of the great joys of my life is making playlists on Spotify. (Yes, I ended up there begrudginly, and kind of still hate it...but am learning to embrace it.) I am working on content for a new Web Series of randomized song reviews that pop from a playlist...but I digress.
As I was listening to this one, this Mile Marker Zero tune came on again, and I am continually FLOORED by the genius of their new record. I ADORE this song. You should listen to it 3x. Three is the magic number. Pretty sure most peeps didnt like Radiohead on their first listen....but when it clicks...oh man!

Zoux produced and mixed the Camelopardalis album that helped propel the band in the early 2000s. His use of space, well balanced instrument EQ, and depth and strength of the sounds you hear, here, are his signature. Link in first comment
