MY HOUSE'S PREVIOUS OWNER LEFT ME A WARNING NOTE ABOUT OUR NEIGHBORS - I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT UNTIL ONE DAY. We moved into our new house about a year ago. Everything seemed perfect. I RETURNED FROM MY HONEYMOON & FOUND A HUGE BLACK BOX IN MY HALLWAY — IT SHATTERED MY WORLD. I recently married the man of my dreams. Right after the wedding, we flew off to the islands for our honeymoon. We asked my mom to watch the house while we were away. When we returned, we were shocked to find a black box in the hallway. On the table was a note that read, "Lori, open this alone!" Seeing the note, my husband suggested we open the box together, just in case it was something dangerous. MY HUSBAND AND BEST FRIEND WERE CHEATING IN AN ELEVATOR, UNAWARE I SAW THEM – MY SURPRISE REVENGE WAS GENIUS. My husband was going to have a corporate event reporting on the success of his team in one of the swankiest hotels in our city, complete with a grand event hall. He was getting ready for this presentation for two weeks, always returning home late. On the day of the event, I was more anxious than he was. I made sure his shirt and suit were perfectly ironed and even cooked his favorite carbonara pasta for dinner. I saw him off with a kiss, wishing him luck. But an hour later, while tidying up, I noticed he had LEFT HIS LAPTOP at home. His presentation was on that laptop! My heart sank. Not wanting his hard work to go to waste, I decided to take it to him at the hotel. When I arrived, there was an eerie silence. MY HUSBAND "ACCIDENTALLY" LOCKED ME IN THE BASEMENT TO WATCH BASKETBALL WITH HIS FRIENDS AT OUR HOUSE—I TAUGHT HIM A LESSON THAT SAME NIGHT I can't stand my husband's friends. They're all unemployed, lazy, and full of bad habits. We've never really had a confrontation about it, but I've made it pretty clear I don't like them. So, one evening, I went down to the basement to grab a bottle of wine, and the next thing I knew, the door was locked from the outside. I didn't have my phone, so I yelled, but my husband didn't answer. After being stuck there for three hours, he finally let me out and acted all clueless, saying, "Oh, I didn't know you were down here! I must've locked it by accident!"
