I am always learning from my interaction with Eli.

So recently, Eli and I were taking a walk on the trail nearby our home.

There are two sides to this trail, one for the bikes and things/those that are continuously moving; and the other side is a red race track, meant for those moving a bit slower or those that are walking.

We typically travel on the red race track because of the speed we are moving at. This side of the track is meant to be safer, and even though this is true I am still very cautious and alert while walking with Eli on it. The reason for this, is because about a foot (as in the measurement) away from the middle of the track there are trees, dirt and a down hill ditch, where if one was not careful they could easily fall into this ditch.

In order to avoid this happening with Eli, I instruct him to stay in the middle and we repeat the words “walking in the middle” over and over again to each other. Although he doesn’t intend to do this, he sometimes veers out, closer and closer to the ditch. He is still learning to balance, gross motor skills and the like and walking on this straight line takes practicing these skills over and over again.

This got me thinking about us and our relationship with God, the word of God teaches us to:
Matthew 7:13 NLT
"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.

It teaches us in the scripture that follows that narrow is the road that leads to life. At times it may seem like this road is restricting us or keeping us from “life” or “living our best life” but as believers, we are to take the narrow road and to bear good fruit along the journey.

My prayer for us is that we will not view the narrow road as a restriction, but as protection and something that frees us; and that we will rejoice over being among the few that find life.

The narrow road leads to life.

A Momma Here,

So on this episode, we briefly visited the Arboretum & Botanic Garden in our new city. After entering we quickly learned that we’d have to make another trip, and that the 2nd time around it would have to be planned. This Botanic Garden is huge! They also have a good 😌 amount of children’s activities there.

I also share one ☝🏽 thing I am having a hard time with regarding him getting older and messier. Check out this months YouTube Video to find out more about what it is. If you are a parent is this something that you can relate to?

I am always learning from my interaction with Eli.

I soo admire Eli’s faith that he doesn’t know is faith yet!

Often times before his meal is ready, he’ll ask to sit in his chair. After this, he’ll ask for his utensils (I hand it to him) and then he goes “plate”.

The most recent time he did this, when he got ready and asked for his plate I was about to say to him: “How are you going to get your plate if there is nothing to go in it yet?”
Instead, I quickly closed my mouth and said to myself in my head, “Well if that’s his faith, that’s HIS faith!” Get your utensils and your plate prepared my precious child, lay them out, be ready to receive, and teach your Momma a thing or two while you’re at it, why don’t you!

Moral of the story:
You don’t have to wait for everything to be ready before you start to prepare for what you already see.
