Duas For Children’s Success, Protection, Behaviour, Obedience, Guidance, Good Health and Safety

Beautiful Duas For Our Children
Children are gifts from Allah s.w.t. The Quran mentions this fact in the verse:

وَٱللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ أَزْوَٰجًۭا وَجَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنْ أَزْوَٰجِكُم بَنِينَ وَحَفَدَةًۭ وَرَزَقَكُم مِّنَ ٱلطَّيِّبَـٰتِ ۚ أَفَبِٱلْبَـٰطِلِ يُؤْمِنُونَ وَبِنِعْمَتِ ٱللَّهِ هُمْ يَكْفُرُونَ

“And Allah has made for you spouses of your own kind and given you through your spouses, children and grandchildren. And He has granted you good, lawful provisions. Are they then faithful to falsehood and ungrateful for Allah’s favours?”

(Surah An-Nahl, 16:72)

As Muslims, we are responsible for the well-being of our children physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. It is their right to grow up in a healthy and secure environment. The Prophet s.a.w. mentioned in a hadith:

أَلَا كُلُّكُمْ رَاعٍ وَكُلُّكُمْ مَسْئُولٌ عَنْ رَعِيَّتِهِ

“Every one of you is a shepherd and is responsible for his flock.”

(Sahih Al-Bukhari)

There are many hadiths of the Prophet s.a.w. that tells us about the importance of taking care of our family. This particular hadith concludes the overarching reminder to bear the responsibility of our respective roles in life, such as that of a leader, an employee and a parent.

Besides providing proper nutrition and education for our children, praying for them is also part of our responsibility. After all, while putting our best efforts in their upbringing, we rely upon Allah s.w.t’s mercy in realising our hopes and commitments for our children. The Messenger of Allah s.a.w. said:

ثَلَاثُ دَعَوَاتٍ مُسْتَجَابَاتٌ لَا شَكَّ فِيهِنَّ دَعْوَةُ الْمَظْلُومِ وَدَعْوَةُ الْمُسَافِرِ وَدَعْوَةُ الْوَالِدِ عَلَى وَلَدِهِ

"There are three supplications that will undoubtedly be answered: the supplication of an oppressed person, the supplication of the traveller; and the supplication of a parent over his child."

(Sunan At-Tirmizi)

Truly, the prayer of the parent for his or her child is answered. Here are some duas that we can recite for our children:
