The No Chill Podcast congratulates NBA veteran Joe Johnson on his recent signing with the Detroit Pistons. The 6’9 swingman has agreed to a $2.6 million deal for the 2019-2020 season. As long as Johnson stays on the active roster past January 7th he is guaranteed $220,000 according to sources. The former All-Star guard spent last season in the BIG3 league as well as playing for the Houston Rockets in the 2017-18 playoffs. Known for his isolation skills he was rewarded the nickname “ISO Joe”, with his combination of height and tactical game play he will be a tough player to defend, giving the Pistons a diverse secret weapon. We can’t wait to see ISO-Joe back on the court this season!

Joe Johnson has played 17 seasons in the NBA. He played high school basketball for Little Rock Central High School and college basketball for the Arkansas Razorbacks. After two years with Arkansas, he declared for the 2001 NBA draft where he was drafted 10th overall by the Boston Celtics. He is a seven-time NBA All-Star and has also played for the Phoenix Suns, Atlanta Hawks, Brooklyn Nets, Miami Heat, Utah Jazz and the Houston Rockets, while having also represented the United States national team. Johnson's teams reached the playoffs each season for the final decade of his NBA career ('07-08 through '17-18) and he is a career 16.1 points per game scorer (44.1 FG%, 37.1 3P%).
