Cuban crocodiles are famous for their speed, intelligence, agility, and jumping ability. This video gives you a little taste of that ability. Unfortunately most of my craziest moments are never caught on video; I’ve had this cuban croc jump up face height at me while standing (I’m 6’5”) on multiple occasions. In this video you can barely see her head creeping from behind Aries the male, who was being such a good boy stationing for me! Then she decides to take a shot at me and rush in, not going for the food but going for me! This is why I was so excited in a recent post with her when I got her to properly take the food from me without trying to kill me 😂 I have worked with this croc for many years, she’s a favorite of mine!!

This also demonstrates why I do the training with them, they’re very intelligent animals and once they understand what you want and that they get rewarded, it makes things much easier and safer to work around for everyone involved.

You can also see how I use my stick to block the jaws; I do not ever hit the animals I work with, ever. You’ll see many croc/gator handlers literally beat the animals with sticks. This is not the way. The stick is a very important tool I use to block and touch with, but never strike.

Hanging out underwater with Casper today after one of my underwater gator encounters! Sometimes he will hang out on the bottom like this, alligators can hold their breath for up to 6 hours!! I can do 3mins lol.

Let me know if you want to go!! Share the water with alligators in a safe and controlled environment! This is done safely at the Everglades Outpost Wildlife Rescue in Homestead, Fl. You get to swim with the gators and take photos, gator selfies, or I can get shots of you swimming with gators. It is for people of any skill level, you don’t have to be scuba certified, just have an interest in wildlife! This is a no contact experience! Observation and photos only at the @evergladesoutpost
