Dancehall Fusion mix 13 this time with Brooklyn-based notorious DJ and producer UPROOT ANDY. We first came across Andy’s work through his Red Bull Radio show Bien Buena, alongside RIOBAMBA_dj
Currently member of the Canada-based Moonshine collective, Uproot Andy has been a staple music activist in the scene for over a decade.
Freshly back from a tour in Colombia, he managed to deliver a special condensed selection of dancehall-(up)rooted tracks, in anticipation to his set at La Gravière. In this mix, he explores different and lesser known styles of dancehall in different languages to examine how early reggaeton has criss-crossed with afrobeats, and reggae to produce original new sounds in places like Kenya, Martinique and Mauritius.
Get ready for an outernational journey exposing the worldwide influences of dancehall!

Dancehall Fusion mix number 12 is provided by excellent DJ and selector Tenor Rock. He is mainly known for being part of the international soundclash champion crew Ma Gash Intl.
Tenor Rock is one of the key exponents of the dancehall scene in Geneva. He and his crew started in the underground scene of Geneva with a notable longstanding residency in the famous squat “K-Bar“ in the 2000s. They rapidly built up their reputation, becoming a major act in the soundclash scene, with a memorable win against Brooklyn-based LP INTERNATIONAL in Trinidad and Tobago. With numerous victories and gigs under his belt, Tenor Rock started his solo career by touring Switzerland, before becoming a well-respected dancehall DJ in Europe.
We are blessed to have this notorious Geneva-based DJ in the series, who provided us with one of our favourite mixes of the past year. Tired of the new dancehall wave, Tenor Rock presents an extended mix of his top dancehall tracks released in the last couple of years. His statement is clear, as the selection is based on one solid criteria: the sonic aesthetic is based on 1990’s bashment exclusively. Once again, after his wonderful show at the last Dancehall Fusion, this mix reveals the knowledge and skills of Tenor Rock behind the decks. Tracklist TBA, link in comment.
Berlin-based DJ and producer Ghetto Vanessa takes up duties for Dancehall Fusion mixtape series 11. The resident at Funclub Intl. “bashment rave“ blessed us with a 40min long mix in anticipation of his debut gig in Geneva, at La Gravière for Valentine’s Day.
He released a bass-infused EP “Ghetto Bird Saga“ on notorious Jamaican leftfield label Equinoxx Music in 2016, and numerous other releases on outlets such as Wile Out and Porto-based label XXIII. After releasing his last project “MI BB“ with banger tracks such as “Nuh Fibble“ by 45DIBOSS, Ghetto Vanessa is currently preparing his next EP alongside UK vocalist Don Sinini. He provided us with a dancehall-oriented mix full of energy with unreleased bootlegs by himself, raw 2010’s bashment and late 2019/early 2020 hits, such as Bad Gyal’s “Zorra“ or “Repeat“ by J Hus & Koffee. Dancehall Fusion mix 10 is by special guest Hermes out of Geneva. Coming from the electronic music world, Hermes is one of a few top notch Swiss DJs being able to blend genres, while keeping a specific aesthetic encapsulated in “dystopia“. He prepared a special post-apocalyptic club selection, with clear dancehall, and reggaeton influences, while exploring textures, and sound designs.
Covering different territories, Hermes showcased a variety of different sounds by artists such as Nahashi, Florentino, Fig, including a Swiss gem released on the “CAF?" Halloween compilation.
This hour is all about reconstruction after chaos. Enjoy this raw club mix, where the unexpected occurs.

Machine Gun Flows meets contemporary Dancehall & Bass Music: LENKY DON from Brooklyn meets Bony Fly from Amsterdam. “Rapid Cash Flow” was created in July 2018 when the founder of Dimelow Records met the New York artist Lenky Don for a freestyle session at his apartment in Flatbush.
