Mariginiup Bushfire Emergency
**Major Bushfire Threatens Mariginiup, Perth - Emergency Warning Issued**
Residents in parts of Perth, including Banksia Grove, Jandabup, Mariginiup, Melaleuca, and Wanneroo, are facing a dire situation as a fast-moving bushfire threatens lives and homes. The Department of Fire and Emergency Services has issued an emergency warning, stating that for some, particularly those east of Franklin Road and Hawkins Road, it's too late to leave.
This alarming bushfire, which started near the intersection of Boundary and Bustard roads in Mariginiup, is moving rapidly in a westerly direction and remains uncontained and uncontrolled. Residents in the danger zones are urged to take immediate action to ensure their survival. Those who cannot leave must seek shelter in their homes, away from the fire front, and prepare for a potential emergency escape.
While the Kwinana Freeway in Perth's southern suburbs has reopened after being closed due to the bushfire near Rowley Road in Aubin Grove, the threat persists in the northern suburbs. With Western Australia experiencing a severe heatwave, temperatures have soared, exacerbating the fire risk. The Bureau of Meteorology warns that the heatwave is expected to impact central west, lower west, and south-west areas, including Perth, over the next few days.
This situation is developing rapidly, and residents are advised to stay alert and keep updated with the latest information on the Emergency WA website.
