Big oil and gas companies are - in theory - the ones who should and could accelerate the necessary transition towards renewable energy. Since the beginning of the COVID19 pandemic in early 2020, governments in G20 countries have committed at least USD 440.16 billion to supporting different energy types through new or amended policies, according to official government sources and other publicly available information.

These public money commitments are additional to many other government policies that had existed to support different energy types before the COVID19 pandemic.

What to do about, besides trying to switch to green energy sources yourself? Check what political parties are doing about this situation and pressure them to change course.
