About last night ✨

The WHIT Program “Brighter Minds, Brighter Future” annual event was another glorious success!

The WHIT Program works with volunteers to provide FREE tutoring to kids in foster care. The homegrown non-profit is making big waves across the state of Texas — and The Concho Valley really showed up in a big way last night!!

I’ve been a part of this amazing non-profit since my return to San Angelo and witnessing its growth through the leadership of Jennifer Lynn Lisson has been an absolute blessing to the community and the many children in need.

I pride myself to be a journalist that has integrity, exhibits excellence, and strive for fairness. These qualities and much more, I have tried to present during my tenure in San Angelo and across the Concho Valley. Unfortunately, the time has come for me to embark upon a new journey.

After much thought, consideration and prayer I have relinquished my position as the Morning/Midday Anchor and Producer at KLST. I officially signed off on the Noon Show Friday, February 2nd, but wasn’t able to give a proper good-bye to those “dark & early” risers who support the morning show.

While I was expecting my return to San Angelo to be a long ride, unfortunately, it has come to an abrupt end. I am blessed by the loyal viewers who have welcomed me into your homes, making me a part of your early mornings and afternoons each and every day. It has been my honor and privilege to serve you and this community over the past two years.

To the amazing production crew who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make our shows look & sound the par, I can't say thank you enough. We really built a great team that put out a great product daily!

While disappointing, this is no sad story. What God has for me, is for me. This stop along my journey is one to be remembered. I am incredibly blessed to have been able to serve and develop such a rapport with the amazing supporters/viewers of San Angelo and The Concho Valley. Thank you 🫶🏾

Please continue to follow me on this social platform as the Concho Valley will forever have a special place in my heart — and of course to stay up-to-date with all-the-things 😉

💛❤️💙 Woot Woot!!! This is amazing!!

Yesterday was an exciting day for us and The WHIT Program! Through our Homelessness Outreach and Prevention initiatives, we are proud to support the tutoring program for children in the foster care system.

Did you know that almost 1 in 4 foster youth become homeless after aging out of the system and that number increases significantly if they don’t graduate high school?

Because these kids are moved around so much they tend to fall behind in education. The WHIT Program’s tutoring services fights to change that.
