Arches, clouds, whales: how the new children's hospital in Thailand is equipped Modern design allows you to make the interiors and exteriors of houses more aesthetically pleasing, using rounded shapes and soft outlines. This is especially true in the case of children's healthcare institutions, as the goal of the designers was to create a space that would make the stay of children in the clinic more comfortable. For this, smooth lines, circles and arches were used in the interior, and calm colors - pastel shades of pink, blue and yellow. Younger visitors may feel uncomfortable or fearful in unfamiliar places, and fun decorations and playgrounds can help them relax.
One successful example of this design is the EKH Children's Hospital in Samut Sakhon, Thailand. Her project, which was implemented in 2019, was developed by the Bangkok studio Integrated Field.
The hospital has comfortable, streamlined furniture. The waiting areas have slides for children and soft seats. Their creators hope that children will be addicted to the game and parents will have to persuade them to leave.
The decor is accentuated by stylized images of animals (whale, turtle, rabbit and lion). They decorate the façade of the building and the ceilings in the chambers above the beds, where ceiling lights are also embedded, forming the outlines of the constellations.
Childcare workers from different countries have also noticed that calm shades and rounded objects often have a positive effect on the condition of the child. So, in England, a nursery appeared, decorated with natural materials. And in Vietnam there is a kindergarten with arched windows and multicolored glass.
