Have you ever wondered what the migration looks like from the air...now is your chance to check it out. Some fabulous aerial scenes as the team finally locate the migration. (I mean seriously, how can you lose 1.5million animals??) Paul is packed off to find something amazing and it's Richard who turns up with it, in camp for goodness sake! (again...)

We are located for this series in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, which is just south of Serengeti National park and very much part of the Serengeti eco-system. We are hoping to find the great wildebeest migration and to dazzle you with wonderful footage and information and fun.

“Filming alongside amazing wildlife photographer Paul PJ Joynson-Hicks has given me a new appreciation for cats, particularly leopards...one of his great photography loves.

On this morning, we’d been tracking her around a big rock kopje in the northern Serengeti - out filming for our Serengeti Safari series. There had been some debate, I think I wanted to go and find elephants - I love elephants and can sit and watch them all day - but also I can count on just two hands only the amount of times I’ve seen a leopard in 25 years so the cat won.

Well she certainly took my breath away as she finally came out and sat on a rock close by. I loved the footage, this is a screengrab from the video just before she yawned and went back into the forested interior and we went on our way” - Eliza Powell

When going on safari, it is vital to choose your guide with the utmost care. With a seasoned professional, you can be sure that nothing will ever go wrong, that every eventuality has been taken into account.

Your days will be spent serenely pottering through the landscape, admiring the wildlife at your leisure.

"In 30 years of guiding, as well as loads of childhood safaris, I had never seen anything like this.

There we were, following a cheetah stalking regally over the plain, when a male ostrich hove into view, feathers fluffed up and looking magnificent. For about 10 minutes they performed this amazing 'dance' right in front of us, moving around each other warily before the ostrich escorted the spotted cat off his turf, honour served"

A panoply of puns

A pun-ishment of puns

Richard Knocker is punstoppable (thanks Jules)

A spectacle of silliness and a fond look back at the humour of the last 4 series. My favourite pun will always be number 2, it gets me every time.

Enjoy!

What was your favourite moment of filming from this last Kogatende series?

Eliza Powell.. "without a doubt, it was the last morning filming up in the rock kopje. Jombi and I had left camp early as I really wanted to see the lion cubs again before we left. We were the only ones up there, it was so quiet and the light was perfect; all the ingredients that make for a wonderful couple of hours of sitting and watching and a very happy filmmaker.

As we watched the lioness lying out on the rock with her two cubs, suddenly a Striped Kingfisher flew into the tree right above the car and we had a ringside seat to its devouring of a large lizard...no movement needed, just swivel the camera around and keep filming. Then..."oh look to your right" said Jombi and there were three Flat-headed Agama lizards sunning themselves on a rock just on the other side of the car, almost posing for the camera.

Just peace and quiet, a cool breeze and life in the kopjes revealing itself to us the longer we sat and watched. Learning that the art of patience always rewards!

"I had seen the bull elephant just after he had died, his body lying out on the plains. Since then I have visited him every time I have been there. It was very emotional for me to watch these elephants come to him, and pay their respects to a fallen family member. They go back to mourn them, remember them, touch the bones. You hear of this, but rarely witness it" - Jombi Kivuyo

Jombi Kivuyo talks about his favourite episode of our recent Serengeti Safari series. He and Paul were so lucky to witness this rare and mystical event, quietly watching as the herd approached, paid their respects and then slowly and silently they moved off. It's emotional even to think about it.

Richard Knocker on his favourite filming moment of our recent Series 4:

"I enjoyed filming the Milkweed Grasshoppers the most. Partly because I really enjoy the macro look of it, also because of the way they all move as one, thus giving the impression of a single, much larger organism - its a defence mechanism, to back up their toxins and a cool bit of natural history "

THIS....is I think my (Eliza) favourite episode of all our series. On our penultimate day of filming, the hyenas and cubs came out to play - what a treat - and I spent time with that beautiful Leopard Queen herself.

And then.....
Paul and Jombi got to quietly witness one of the most beautiful and mystical rituals that exists in the natural world: elephants paying their respects to a fallen colleague; a very very special moment that leaves me feeling so privileged to be out here. A very special episode indeed.

Coffee in the kopjes, the best part of the morning, and a great cup it was too thanks to Jombi’s fabulous coffee-making skills.

Earlier we were out and about looking for a hyena den, complete with young pups. After an hour or so, we found the den but no sign of life (mum out and about, pups sleeping maybe?) so we’ll head back there later to have another look. Wonder what the other two are up to?
