We are all relational people, it is how God made us to be. His design was for us to feel loved, to feel safe and secure in our relationships. When we associate with people who are self absorbed, it can leave us feeling insecure, unloved and unable to share with them our heart. What do we do with a relationship that is focused only on self? When you hear the word “Submit”, how do you respond? Our roles, as men and women have been defined by our western view of Jesus and has confused our minds. This view causes us to submit to each other according to our view of authority rather than out of love. It affects our marriages, our friendships and our service for God. So, What is biblical submission, and why do we submit?

It all comes down to the heart!! Listen in to hear Betsy’s story as she talks about her desire to have a heart for God through the challenges in a difficult marriage. Words have power, but words are empty without the actions that support them! Betsy refused to allow her hurt and her anger to manifest in her heart. Rather than continuing to repeat cycles of insanity, God gave her the courage to overcome the challenges she faced by giving her support and encouragement, turning her focus toward her calling of service to God. The desire of her heart, to listen to God’s voice, is what is seen in her service to others!

This week we are joined by our dear friend, Betsy Horne. From early on in her life she realized there is value in having a good heart that loves God and loves others. As a person who feels deeply and desires the gentle touch of someone’s love, a difficult marriage of 25 years kept her from growing in her faith and left her questioning the validity of her feelings. Words are important, and it matters how they are used. They can either tear down or they can build up. We are not asked to settle for Chaos when God call us to a place of peace, it will cause a heart to build up resentments! Betsy values the friendships that got down in the trenches with her and heard her heart, helping her to see her feelings were valid, boundaries are important, and that she is not alone. Join us this week as we hear how Betsy protected her heart from becoming jaded so that her love for others would flow from a heart that is clean, desiring to do good works for God!

God doesn’t give us His favor to take it away when we mess up, His favor is always upon us because of Jesus. As Christians, we get to enjoy His favor continually because of our desire to know Him more fully, therefore we get to take part in His goodness. His favor rests upon us, not because we are good… Only God is good and His love for us is never-ending!

We take back the power the enemy has over our heart when we are able to forgive those who have not earned our forgiveness. The healing begins when we let go of our hurt so God can have our heart. Dyian’s desire to be free from her pain was found in the redemptive power of God’s love. The grace and mercy she received from Jesus, she passed on to others.
