Pokey & Our friendly squirrel!
This baby squirrels mom threw both herself & the baby off the roof of My barn one day .Mom died & baby was dazed - I was able to pick her up and she started screaming so I let her go and she has stuck around in pokeys stall since . She comes out to eat every morning and I can get my hand close to her with food but she's still a bit nervous !
FINALLY ! A decent sized riding arena ! Just gotta let the ground soften up and let Grass grow - may be considering tilling it up to make it even more softer .
Pokey had this SH*T PACKED DOWN hard as a rock and grazed to the dirt, he was only on it overnight. Now he has a smaller pen around the barn and a run to this when he's not in his 2 acre pasture . I did this all by myself and I'm BEAT!

Pokeys least favorite thing is a bath but it's been so hot and he NEVER let's me get his face with the hose so I have to give him a ✨️sponge bath✨️....
& His face was stinky ...

Some of my proudest moments have come about with “just a dog.”
Many hours have passed and my only company was “just a dog,” but I did not once feel slighted.
Some of my saddest moments have been brought about by “just a dog,” and in those days of darkness, the gentle touch of “just a dog” gave me comfort and reason to overcome the day.
If you, too, think it’s “just a dog,” then you probably understand phrases like “just a friend,” “just a sunrise,” or “just a promise.”
“Just a dog” brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust, and pure unbridled joy.
“Just a dog” brings out the compassion and patience that make me a better person.
Because of “just a dog” I will rise early, take long walks and look longingly to the future.
So for me and folks like me, it’s not “just a dog” but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future, the fond memories of the past, and the pure joy of the moment.
“Just a dog” brings out what’s good in me and diverts my thoughts away from myself and the worries of the day.
I hope that someday they can understand that its’ not “just a dog” but the thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being “just a man” or “just a woman.”
So the next time you hear the phrase “just a dog,” just smile, because they “just don’t understand.”

My husband and I finished fencing over 2 acres for the Pokey poo! Now time to slowly increase grazing time since he has been required to be dry lotted since august of 2021. If he seems to be getting too much ill have to get a grazing muzzle 😭 pony problems I guess .
Poke has been impressing me more and more every ride..

Fresh out the Pooper ! We have mainly mini-eggs cause all our younger hens from spring are beginning to lay and our older girls are finishing up the molting process so hopefully by next summer I can start stamping and selling our eggs at a reasonable price! They're $7/dozen at any store around here at the moment.
AND NO, I do not wash or refrigerate my eggs so they stay fresh up to 90 days then I refrigerate them ( if they dont get ate which they always do..) The poo gets hard brushed off before cooking but if you know how to crack an egg there's little chance of contamination.

Poke is really figuring it all out and really becoming a dream to ride... but I also think he feels I'm not 100% . It's been a war with my body the past several months and the past few weeks my joints and bones have really been effecting me and my mobility. I'm eternally grateful for our trainer who comes and helps out 2x a week and rides when I physically and mentally can NOT. Never in my entire athletic life would I think I'd have a disability or illness that would effect my life the way it has...
