Have you ever witnessed a profound change in someone's life, a transformation that transcends the physical to impact the very soul?
Join us this week with special guests Pastor Nick & Nathan Foley from Set Free Church Wonder Valley as we explore the powerful journey of spiritual rebirth. Episode 81 takes you into the heart of true discipleship, where the fringes of society find hope and a new path forward in faith. Experience the raw and candid stories about those who have battled addiction and homelessness, and discover the church’s mission to renew spirits and guide individuals toward a life dedicated to God's glory.

The conversation with Nicodemus and Jesus offers a foundational pillar for understanding what it means to be 'born again' in the Christian faith. Our discussion ventures into the depths of this dialogue. We examine the context behind John 3:16 and delve into the lives of biblical figures, like Nicodemus, to comprehend the profound implications of spiritual rebirth that goes beyond mere ritual or practice. This episode stands as a call to action, inviting a reflection on the necessity of a genuine rebirth in Christ.

The episode culminates with an exploration of the eternal promises that define a spiritually reborn life, guiding you through scriptural passages that shed light on our place in heaven and the sanctification process. We share personal testimonies and the compelling narrative of Ezekiel, encouraging you to embrace the unseen workings of the Holy Spirit and live a life marked by humility and the pursuit of God. This transformative journey through the narratives of scripture is not just an invitation to listen, but to engage with the deeper meanings that enrich our faith and understanding.

Join us in our latest deep-dive into the book of Galatians with Pastor Ryan Brown! This week we reveal how Paul's teachings illuminate our Christian freedom, and discuss just what it means to live by the spirit rather than under the law.

But freedom, as liberating as it sounds, also comes with its own set of inherent dangers when the guardrails are removed. As we walk through the scripture this week, we'll dive into the implications of living free and how to navigate the treacherous waters of temptation. We'll also discuss the power of service to others as a true testament to living in the spirit. Through an in-depth look at service in practice, we'll shed light on how it can help us overcome the desires of the flesh and the temptation to misuse our liberty.

Lastly, we'll address the elephant in the room - sin. How does it play out in our Christian lives post-law, and what are its consequences? We'll delve into how Paul's advice to the church of Galatia is still relevant today - that freedom IS NOT an excuse to indulge in sin. We'll explore the importance of spiritual discipline, embracing the power of saying no, and developing spiritual habits that starve the flesh and feed the spirit.

In this riveting episode, Pastor Ryan Brown takes us on an intellectual exploration of the purpose and function of the law in the Biblical context. Understanding the promise and law relationship in the Bible is critical. We examine how the promise to Abraham superseded the introduction of the law. We dissect the purpose and function of the law and the implications of God's justice, grace, and holiness. We also discuss how the law was a medicine until the arrival of the ultimate cure - Christ.

As we journey further into the Book of Galatians, we delve into the role of Paidagogos , or guardian slave, and the significance of hindering growth. We also discuss the manifestation of true freedom, which is a cornerstone of biblical teachings. This in-depth discussion unravels the complexities of law, promise, and freedom.

This episode promises a depth of understanding that will enrich your knowledge of the God's word. So, gear up and prepare to delve into a mind-opening exploration of faith, law, and the profound teachings of the Bible.

"I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by believing what you heard?" Galatians 3:2

Join us with our teacher Pastor Ryan Brown, as we continue to unravel the foundations of our faith with the third chapter of Galatians. As we explore the question Paul posits in chapter 3 verse 2, we'll look at the implications of Paul's teachings on grace, faith, and obedience, and how these can help us understand that God's promise does not depend on our efforts, but on our trust in Him.

Don't miss our thought-provoking discussions on the depth of sin, sanctification, and the function of traditions like baptism. We'll be analyzing the frightening implications of placing our trust in ourselves rather than in God and the anxiety and worry that inevitably comes from such misplaced trust.

Finally, we invite you to be part of the conversation as we share insights and wisdom about the faith journey and the importance of discipleship. So, grab a seat, grab your Bible and note taking gear, and tune in.

New Episode!
As we sift through the multilayered narrative of the book of Galatians, we discuss its historical, religious, and cultural implications. Today it's Chapters 1 and 2. We'll grapple with the tension of Gentile inclusion in Abraham's family, the hypocrisy Paul exposes in the Jerusalem Church, and the struggle of being a faithful Jew under Roman oppression.

With our teacher Pastor Ryan Brown, we embark on an enlightening journey tracing Paul's experiences and revelations. From his years spent in study, to his journey with Barnabas and Titus, to Jerusalem; each pivotal moment pushing Paul's understanding of the what the Gospel reveals. We also examine the, at the time, radical nature of Paul's message that justification comes not by legalistic observance but by unwavering faith in Christ.

An Overview
Ever wondered about the structure of the synagogue during Jesus’ time and its parallels to today's church? We'll compare roles such as zikinium, chazzan, and rasha keneseth to our modern-day associate pastor, deacon, and senior pastor roles. You'll gain insights into different worship service practices, from the ancient synagogue system to our current context. We also dig into the authority of women in the church, considering figures like Phoebe, a deacon in the Roman church.

Paul's instruction to women to remain silent in church has been a contentious issue, especially in recent years. We'll delve into the historic context, exploring the Greek word Laleo, and engage in lively debates on its implications for today's church. The conversation takes some surprising turns, as we consider military structures and the difference between leadership and authority. By the end, you'll have fresh perspectives to ponder over, and you'll understand why God's Word deserves more than just a simple reading. So, tune in for a thought-provoking discussion that's sure to challenge your beliefs and enrich your faith.

Last week we focused on community by looking at the significance of Jesus saying "Our" Father and the unique personal way Jesus describes God by calling him father, which would have been very shocking in Jesus' day. This week we will continue studying exactly what is being said by Jesus and why he organized the “Our Father” prayer the way he did.

Yes it has been a while since posting. With that being said, this is one of the most important and impactful episodes we have ever done.

Matthew 6:9-13 "Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen."

Join us with our teacher, Pastor Ryan Brown as he teaches us about how Jesus taught us to pray and what that may say about our prayer life. This is deep and I know that everyone has something to learn here. I

Lastly, please keep us in your prayers.

This week we dived into a question that each of us ponder, but few of us have a good answer to:
"Why do some people suffer more than others?"
You must look at life from a heavenly perspective. As Jesus showed in his parable about a Rich Man and Lazarus (Luke 16:19-31), do not be solely comforted in good things here while allowing others to suffer, help those that are suffering. Help them because temporal things have eternal consequences

Sorry for the late post!

Join us with our teacher Ryan Brown as we discuss how our emotions can blind us. The day of Jesus' resurrection was the most important day in all of history. Everything in Torah, every prophet, and every prophecy pointed to the death and resurrection of Christ, yet in her grief Mary Magdalene couldn't see it. Grief is not inherently bad. Grief should not be avoided. But there is a chance that things like grief, anger, lust, anxiety, or depression may be blocking you from seeing the world with a risen savior. This pain may be keeping you from feeling and experiencing the power and leadership of the Holy Spirit in your life. This will require some work. Attacking these problems will not be easy. Take notes!

In case you missed it! This week we discuss two miracles for two daughters.
Imagine having a chronic painful issue that no doctor could explain or solve. Some of you may have an issue like that right now. Would you break every tradition, law and convention to pursue the one you believed could heal you? This woman plagued with bleeding for 12 years of her life pressed through a crowd to touch Jesus' garments and was healed. But when Jesus stopped to confront the woman, we don't often remember where Jesus was heading and why this woman's interruption was so substantial.

This week we discuss with our teacher Ryan Brown, the Calling of Nathan. We know Jesus Christ died for our sins. We know that Jesus fulfilled the law of Tora perfectly. We know that Jesus challenged cultural norms and uprooted the status quo. We know that he came to fulfill the prophecies and promises brought forth by the prophets of the Old Testaments. We know these things... because we have hindsight. We have the blessing of the completed work of scripture. What was it like to be Jacob and have a dream so vivid he called the place he awoke Bethel? What was it like to be Zechariah and have a prophetic vision you couldn't possibly understand? It was common to be skeptical in Jesus' day. Zealots were common place. No one really understood what Jesus was going to do until after he declared "It is finished"! If you didn't have hindsight, what would it take to prove to you that the Son of Man, Your Savior, God stands among you?
