In this workshop for therapists Dr. Karen Fried will demonstrate how the Oaklander Model of Gestalt Play Therapy can be used to enliven the therapeutic relationship and address a child's developmental needs. Through experiential learning, participants will be introduced to interventions that help children develop a strong sense of self and tackle present-moment challenges. International Holocaust Remembrance Day: Testimony with George Elbaum, Jan 27 @ 12 pm PST.

George was 1-year-old and living in Warsaw when Germany invaded Poland in September, 1939. His family lived in the Warsaw ghetto in cramped quarters and on starvation rations for the next three years. During this time 10 members of his family perished and only George and his mother survived.

George attend MIT (BS, MS, and PhD in Aeronautics & Astronautics and Nuclear Engineering) and worked in the aerospace industry. He started telling his story in 2009 and has published two books of his story titled Neither Yesterdays Nor Tomorrows and Yesterdays Revisited.
