At last, I can present to you a complete, all-in-one-place kit to make your very own Nemcam!

I'm still using this setup for all regular Twitch streaming and most of my YouTube videos.

My DIY hybrid of a Wansview we**am with a Fulekan varifocal CCTV lens. I've actually bought two expensive we**ams (the Logitech Streamcam and Logitech Brio), sold/returned them both, and gone back to this one for all of my regular streaming. I got it at the same time as the ill-fated Logitech Brio, but haven't had a chance to try it out until now. It's a little wireless rechargeable dooberry.

Last time I played it, I couldn't work out why I was stuck viewing everything on the wonk. Turned out that I'd knocked the mouse, and that changes the viewing angle! I struggled for ages...

The streaming Christmas tree is complete in time for New Year's! What do we think?

The last couple of decorations had to travel half way around the world to be here, so they weren't really late, it's just that I only found out about them (the Twitch and YouTube logos) too close to Christmas for them to have arrived in time.

There's something really apt about this being a tree having worldwide decorations, though, seeing as Twitch is a worldwide medium.

Happy New Year to all of the friends I've met through streaming, and to all those I'm yet to meet in 2022. It's been a tough year for all, and discovering (or, rather, being converted to) streaming half way through 2020 has made a huge difference to me. We've formed a lovely group amongst ourselves in the Nemethsphere.

OK, only for a little while...but taking nearly a month off will feel like an eternity, given that a couple of weeks off felt like three months...

It's gotta be done, though. It's not as if I didn't know final year of uni was coming...I did have two years' notice, after all...

Stuff the road to 500 followers thing! Facebook just reminded me that today is the anniversary of completing my thesis! How has it been ten years?!

My stream isn't dominated by physics, mind you, but there is a channel point redeem called 'Random Physics Fact'...I have a feeling this might get used a lot more than usual, tonight...

Shall we do something physics-y, though, in celebration? Team up on Moonbase Alpha (free on Steam)? Among Us? A chill stream around a virtual pool table?

What do you do when the game Star Trek Timelines doesn't let you turn off the in-game music so you can avoid a DMCA strike on Twitch, so you have to mute all of the audio including the fantastic in-game voiceover by John de Lancie?

Thank goodness Nina Caliente was wearing her space suit. Amazingly, and uncharacteristically, my Sims knew exactly what to do. I'm usually shouting at them, but this time, nothing but praise!

I think we'll go for Sims 4 again tonight. I'm in the mood for chill, plus it'll give me plenty of time to react if a bot/hate raid comes in, since (sadly) it's now a matter of when, rather than if.

Hate raids are getting exponentially worse. Today, I heard a story about someone getting hate raided, successfully clamping down on it, then their stream spontaneously raided a bot without them having any say in it. It's a nightmare that's making me apprehensive about my next stream.

I don't usually stream on Wednesdays, but I will be joining other non-Wednesday streamers in not watching Twitch for these 24 hours.

I'm making the call. No stream tonight. Need to start work early tomorrow, and already pretty tired. Energising myself to do a stream and then ending up staying awake seems totally backwards.

Next Tuesday 10pm BST for definite, but might do a bonus stream before then.
