Espn released their mock draft and boy oh boy is it embarrassing

I mean.. really now? I know teams are looking for best talent and we won’t know the order of the draft until tonight but you should be basing it off of talent AND need AND locker room fit. How do these guys affect other players, culture, roster?

Tonight at 8:30 is the NBA Draft Lottery. The future of teams is decided with the luck of a ping pong ball. Even with the odds smoothed, and with a relatively weak draft class compared to recent years, this is the most impactful event to shape next season and the leagues future. Each team in the lottery is there for a reason. They need help. Be it at wing to score and defend, point guard as another ball handler or shooter, a big to clean up the glass and work the paint-this is the chance.

This years class is HEAVY on secondary ball handlers and offensive wings. LOTS of teams need these gaps filled at the top. With coronavirus standards in place-we have missed out on March madness to see these guys against the best of the best under pressure. Without pre Draft workouts and publicized events-plus the bubble in Orlando and delayed schedule-we have missed even more chances. To me this means it will be a VERY chalky draft. Whoever is desperate for someone is going to have to move up and pay a high cost to do so, as Anthony Edwards, Lamelo Ball, and James Wiseman are for sure top 3-5 picks.

One helluva article.

The impact coronavirus will have on the bottom line of industries around the globe will forever shape the future economy. Office jobs will change. The service economy will efficiently downsize. There will be a collapse of commercial real estate and need to redevelop zoning in towns previously designed around the retail box store experience.

And most importantly: it fundamentally changes how universities behave. As Noah smith wonderfully writes here; you will see a lean towards education being reserved for the richer and more advantaged, further insulating the connections and limiting the social ladder that higher education used to facilitate. This is what made the American dream possible. The ability to make something of yourself beyond getting stuck in a caste.

How we structure our rules and regulations on universities will affect our future. It’s time to revisit them instead of living in the distant past.

The pandemic will make institutions even more eager to admit wealthy legacy students.

So on this mornings MLB pod I talked about how pi**ed I was the Astros are improving and they don’t get to face punishment and retribution for cheating. I proposed teams be able to sell to fans voice quips to air during games.

Well... the MLB was ahead of me I guess. And they’re going to allow you to do this for certain games thru the app.

This is good development and I hope they use this in NFL and CFB this year as well.

Nice to know I’m not just talking out of my ass either!!

Joe Biden announced yesterday afternoon after a long deliberation that Kamala Harris would be his running mate in his bid for the Presidency.

Hello again, and welcome back. I know it has been a long time. Those of you close to me understand the course of the last few months in not only my life but now with society as a whole. With this time at home and while job hunting and graduation is on hold, it's time to refocus, re-energize, reinvigorate. I will be publishing the links to a news update about the coronavirus, its impact politically and economically, as well as a small personal update at the end. It's a little lengthy and stumbly, but it's our first go back.

Over ther next few weeks, I will be attempting to put out multiple podcasts and pieces of content per day. Starting tomorrow, The Hub Pod will be publishing only news pieces and commentary. The Hub Sports will be where to find all major professional and collegiate material. We also have a Tuesday Hot Takes podcast, a Life Tips with a twist pod, and tales from the floor by yours truly- The Bean Bag Boys (Harry and the roomie Don). For some of these weeks, I will be home to record with friends and family and create content with info to be provided later.

This is insane.

For those that don’t know... Antonio Brown has been a saga for months.

Last season he feuded at the end of the year with his qb Ben roethlisberger over targets and attitude. He also called out his coach, skipped the last game of the year when he could’ve helped them win and make the playoffs, couldn’t stand his young receiving teammate juju and called him out on social for literally no reason other than the kid won team mvp. All of this happened and then he came out on some celebrity dance and sing competition.

Now this year he has been traded to the raiders for nothing. They gave him 30 million plus to play there. Then.. it all went downhill.

He used a cryotherapy chamber without proper footwear and lost like 12 layers of skin on his feet and couldn’t practice the first half of training camp. Dumb.

Then the called out the nfl for changing helmet standards... to improve safety. He wants his old helmet back that allowed concussions at a high rate. Three helmets tested... three failed. He threatened to retire.

THEN he simply skips practice and meetings, gets fined like anyone else who would do that, calls out his team for fining him on social media, calls his boss a cracker on the field, leaves.

In the last 24 hours he has publicly released an apology and that he will come back to the team. Followed by releasing the audio of Jon gruden telling him to shut up and play, and then asking the team to release him after they fined him again and now they’re taking away his guarantees.

This is a debacle.

In my eyes, he’s gone. They suspend him for 4 games conduct detrimental or just flat out release him under bad conditions and void all but one mil they owe him.

What team wants ab? Distraction, crazy, selfish? No thanks.

But imagine if he ended up on the freaking pats like it’s 07 randy moss and got his s**t together? I can’t imagine an actual contender wanting to pick him up other than maybe Seattle.

This is wild.

Lots of news topics touched on in the first half hour, followed by analysis of the teams and their situations-as well as lines for betting team win totals, divisional strength and record, and some bets I like this week wrap up the pod.

Next week I look forward to our NFL podcast week 2 where we will breakdown this Thursdays Packers-Giants game, where I was wildly off on my bet. We also will breakdown the Jets-Bills game on our local segment, begin our active QB tiers segment, talk briefly on who is fantasy cancelled/hero for the upcoming and previous week, and provide more betting information! (I'm down 13 units already so it's less advice and more wallow in my sorrow with me)
