President James A. Garfield may be the most impressive president you know nothing about. The last of the log cabin presidents was a brilliant scholar, a Civil War General, a loving family man and a fierce defender of civil rights, and education. His assassin, Charles Guiteau, (who lived for a while at the Oneida community, a free love bible communism community that would become one of the top makers of traps and silverware in the USA), was angry he hadn’t been given a cushy ambassadorship. This story needed four parts to tell you everything!

In 1989 Boston was stunned when a young couple were hijacked and shot on their way home from birth classes. Revere native Chuck Stuart, who would survive his injuries, informed police that the crime had been committed by a black man with a raspy voice who shot them and left them for dead. His wife, Carol DiMaiti Stuart, and their unborn son Christopher did not survive.

A new documentary on HBO, “Murder in Boston: Roots, Rage & Reckoning” is out now.

The brutal and senseless murders of Herb and Bonnie Clutter, alongside their two teenage children, shocked the nation. The killers, Perry Smith and Richard "Dick" Hickock, left behind a gruesome crime scene that would become the focal point of Truman Capote's groundbreaking true crime novel, "In Cold Blood." As the investigation unfolded, the small community grappled with the haunting question: What could drive two strangers to commit such a heinous act in the heartland of America?
