LAPD Cops Use Bean Bags, Taser and a Cruiser To Arrest Knife-Wielding Man

Officers arrived at the site and observed Mitrani, armed with a knife, standing next to a person on the sidewalk. The officers immediately gave an oral order to Mitrani to put down the knife. Mitrani refused to obey orders and moved towards an officer, leading to the deployment of TASER and Beanbag Shotgun. Neither of the less damaging bullets worked, and Mitrani ran south to Burbank Avenue. The officers followed Mitrani, who was still armed with the knife, leading to the second and third deployment of the Beanbag Shotgun. This again proved ineffective, and Mitrani ran against the officers. An additional TASER implementation was reused with no effect. At this time, an officer was driving his police car at about 3-5 miles per hour and purposely hit Mitrani to stop his actions. Mitrani fell to the ground and immediately got up, still holding the knife, and charged straight at the officers. One of the officers conducted a knock to the ground, and Mitrani was later disarmed and taken into custody. Mitrani was taken by paramedics to a local hospital, where he was treated for excessive vomiting due to intoxication and was medically booked. Mitrani has been charged with public ADW against a Knife-wielding Policeman. One officer suffered scratches to his left hand and both knees. A pocket knife with a 4-inch-long blade was recovered at the scene

The driver, 25-year-old Laquandra Borden, re-entered his vehicle after being questioned and began driving away with two officers following him. After crashing into a patrol car, she reversed and drove away, all while another officer tried to pull her away from the passenger side. Several officers followed in their patrol cars. An officer opened fire, shooting Borden in the hand. She was charged with several counts, including shoplifting and hitting and running.

Farmington Police officer attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle which had an illegitimate license plate. The driver of the vehicle pulled into a parking stall at the US Post Office located at 145 East State Street. Body-worn camera shows that the driver rolled the window of the vehicle down only a few inches and refused to provide identification or cooperate with the officer in any way. The driver asserted his independence from the laws of the land as well as his belief that he was not required to provide information to the officer, nor was he required to cooperate. The initial officer called for assistance and continued efforts to provide the driver with information and options, but to no avail. A supervisor, and two officers, one with a trainee assigned to him, responded to assist. The driver was ultimately identified as 25-year-old Chase Allan.
