And no, for me that’s not Christmas but my summer holiday!
 
In a few weeks, I will be enjoying a fantastic time with my family on the Spanish island of Gran Canaria. This island is truly perfect for cycling, so I’ll definitely spend some hours on the bike exploring its most beautiful spots.
 
Combining a family holiday with cycling isn’t always easy. That’s why I wrote an article in collaboration with where I share some of my best tips.

Climbing Col de Porte on day 2 of was actually harder for me then climbing the Mont Ventoux on day 1.

In the beginning of the climb I found it hard to find the right pace, half way through the climb I felt better and started to feel the right rhythm again and it become more enjoyable.

💥Mont Ventoux💥

On the first day of we had to climb the legendary Mont Ventoux. We climbed it from Malaucène: 21km / 7,5%

While I was on my way to the start of the climb I met Glenn, we started chatting about bikes, cycling and other stuff. Before we knew it we already cycled 1/3rd of the climb. This is also where the climb gets steeper, the chatting stopped and we separated ways.

We both made it to the top and we knew we were going to cycle together a bit more this week. That’s the magic of new friendships form within just a few kilometers!

Having an absolute blast going up Col du Porte at day 2 of

After Mont Ventoux and two other climbs I did yesterday it was a hard day in the office today: 163km with more than 3.000m of climbing.

Now recovering for tomorrow: 145km with 3.300m of climbing.

The Ride Day 0 was a good day!🤘🏻

After a good night’s sleep I woke up feeling full of energy! The great weather also helped!☀️

With a small group we explored the area around the Mont Ventoux. During the ride we had the best views on the “Giant of the Provence”😍

Tomorrow during stage 1 of I will make my way up starting in Malaucène. 21,2km, 1.534m, avg 7,6% and max 12,4%

After months of training I’m very much looking forward to this first epic climb!⛰️🥰

The Ride 2024… Let’s do this!💥

Next week this time I already completed the first stage of 2024. Mont Ventoux - Cauberg

I will use the coming days to rest and pack.
All the training is done, I know I can do this so I am looking forward to another great cycling week with 300 likeminded cyclists.
