Uncertainty: At the moment it’s not sure if our planned Summer Holiday to Mallorca is going ahead. I keep my fingers crossed to cycle on the beautiful climbs the Island has to offer.
In the meantime I just keep pushing up the Dutch hills.

Trying new things is always fun! Yesterday was all about trying new things! First of all I followed up the advise of one of my favourite cycling content creators who said in his last photography tutorial: ‘Go out there and try’
Well I did and here is the result. What do think? Secondly I am discovering new roads every day by using the Strava route planning in combination with the navigation function of my Wahoo Elemnt Roam. This is so much fun that I will challenge myself to explore new roads every week. Finally I’m wearing a new woven jersey from Why it’s woven? Read more on their website.

It’s not a secret that I’m a big fan of cycling through the Dutch Dunes. I’m lucky to live pretty close to this nature reserve which makes it easy to plan a ride on the cycle path between the several cost cities. And the best thing about this area is that there are no cars allowed! I especially like to cycle here early morning when it’s nice and quiet. Around this time you also have the best chance to spot deers and other wildlife. Another interesting fact is that the Dunes between Langevelderslag and Zandvoort are used to pre-purify 2/3 of Amsterdam’s drinking water. The water is extracted from the river Rhine and then pumped into the dunes for further purification in a natural way over a period of three months. Finally it’s being cleaned technically before it’s pumped to Amsterdam. So, next time when you visit Amsterdam enjoy your tap water and join me for a ride through this awesome area!! You won’t regret it!

Throwback Thursday! I’m taking you back to a warm and sunny afternoon in August when and I had a lot of fun shooting in this urban setting. It’s not every day that I cycle in an empty parking garage which turned out to be a great location for a altitude training. Thursday is also the day to start making plans for the weekend. I’m sure you’re also making plans because for many of you it will be the first time you’re allowed to cycle outside again! Enjoy making the plans! The weekend is one step closer!

Today I swapped my morning ride for a late afternoon ride. I cycled to Amsterdam and continued my way following the Amstel river in Southern direction. The strong wind from the North East made it an intense ride but what a great way to close the week and start the weekend! And now it’s time to rest the legs and enjoy a good glass of red wine!
