I don’t understand how a normal person can relate to Harry and Meghan interview with Oprah last Sunday night.
In my opinion, this interview is an insult to normal people, those who have to deal with real life problems without having the resources available to this couple and specially without a multimillion payment to talk about them publicly.
My dislike about the show has nothing to do with the millions of dollars behind these people and the interview itself, it’s mostly about an intent to represent their reality as something other people can easily relate to, enough to support it, an intent to represent themselves as victims of a situation that deserves and needs support from the audience.
It’s the manipulation of race and mental health to justified a paid interview to grotesquely accuse others without further proof than their own statement. The intent to justified their decisions as the obvious and necessary step to take to deal with their alleged situation.
Shame to them and shame to Oprah for providing a platform and co-authoring such a dishonest behavior.
I look at this particular interview and I see three people playing their part in a staging promised to bring considerable financial compensation. That is fine as far as we take it for what it is : a show to entertain in exchange for ratings and a payout to the participants, nothing else.
Stop with the intents of linking this interview with important social issues, the bigger the intent the more it reveals itself as an opportunistic and manipulative montage.
Harry and Meghan will never be the models to represent the struggles of normal people. Mentioning race and mental health from their perspective is a lack of sensibility to the immense majority of people that have to deal with these issues without the access to the type of resources these two have at their disposal.
That’s my opinion but you are “ entitled to your opinion "
